John Bigboote Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 That's Xtaz's Mascot! I need to google acta Quote
NancyGormezano Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 HAH! How ironic! ACTA = Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement. If Xtaz didn't do this logo for them then ACTA may have some explaining to do. From the wiki: The Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) is a multinational treaty for the purpose of establishing international standards for intellectual property rights enforcement. The agreement aims to establish an international legal framework for targeting counterfeit goods, generic medicines and copyright infringement on the Internet, and would create a new governing body outside existing forums, such as the World Trade Organization, the World Intellectual Property Organization, or the United Nations. Oh wait...this is to STOP ACTA...nevermind... Quote
fae_alba Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 So to illustrate why they want to stop the ACTA, they lift their logo, aka intellectual of somebody else... Quote
Xtaz Posted March 4, 2012 Author Posted March 4, 2012 what is your thought ??? should I look for my rights ?????? Quote
NancyGormezano Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 what is your thought ??? should I look for my rights ?????? The concept of an octopus gripping the globe looks, of course, similar. I think there is enough variation in the image to say it's NOT an infringement of IP property. Others have had similar ideas in the past. It's not a totally new concept. Yours, however, was an exceptionallly well done image/mascot, and the best I've seen so far. Quote
Xtaz Posted March 5, 2012 Author Posted March 5, 2012 what is your thought ??? should I look for my rights ?????? The concept of an octopus gripping the globe looks, of course, similar. I didn't know that it is so common inspiration.... (: Thanks Nancy Quote
