Gerry Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Jerry Robinson passed away yesterday at the age of 89. Not much I can add, though I did interview him back in the 80's in connection with the campaign to free a Uraguayan cartoonist from political prison. He was extremely involved in political movements for most of his life apparently. He did more things in more fields than most people would get to in twice the lifespan. Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted December 9, 2011 Hash Fellow Posted December 9, 2011 So he created "Robin"? Cool! Quote
Admin Rodney Posted December 10, 2011 Admin Posted December 10, 2011 I am glad to hear you got the chance to meet and interview him before he died. I'll have to read up on what he thought of changes DC made to Robin and the Joker over the years. See you in the funny pages Mr. Robinson. Quote
Gerry Posted December 10, 2011 Author Posted December 10, 2011 It's funny, I remembered interviewing him but I forgot exactly why until I read the various articles yesterday. There was a Uraguayan cartoonist, Francisco Laurenzo Pons who was imprisoned for his cartoons and Jerry was very active in the international effort to get him freed. Seems like a lifetime ago! Quote
