"force" the one in the Chor props can affect anything including particles. the one in the particle system is added to the one in the Chor. If it's 0 then you still have -100 default in the chor. If the particle has +100 that will ballance out the defautl chor force. Or, you could set the chor force to 0 if you don't need it for anything else.
