Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted September 22, 2011 Hash Fellow Posted September 22, 2011 Sister to the character animation industry is the Visual Effects industry which is becoming famous for worker unhappiness. They're finally getting agitated enough to talk out loud about it. One result is this proposal: Visual Effects Industry Bill of Rights When you read the "finer points' they are all things (except possibly "quality healthcare coverage") you wouldn't think would even be in question at a normal employer. But in VFX it seems to be a chronic, widespread problem. Quote
Admin Rodney Posted September 22, 2011 Admin Posted September 22, 2011 I like checking in on the TAG blog often for a couple reasons, primarily: 1. The interviews with animators and 2. Reality checks from people working in the animation industry It's hard to believe that VFX artists are still at this stage and it'll be interesting to see how it all plays out. Technical proficiency is valuable and even kids having fun creating movies have to pay their bills. And... as they get older they inevitably will have to pay more medical bills. Quote
