I am trying to extrude a spline ring along a path, which is a simple sign wave, but I haven't had any success with any of these plugins. Is there a known issue with these plugins?

Try this sample PRJ

ExtruderTest.prj

select the "outline" group

RMB>Plugins>Wizards>Extruder

try these settings:

I find I often have to force the screen to refresh before the extrusion becomes visible.

Thanks, Robert but that produces the same results that I get.

The spline rings seem to be twisting. It would be useful if the extruder had a subdivision variable so that we could set the number of spline rings between CPs.

You said you weren't having any success at all, I thought that meant you weren't getting anything at all.

Sweeper does a better job of ascertaining how to orient the outline.

use my same sample PRJ, select the "spline", then RMB>yadayadayada>Sweeper adn use these settings.

why not use sweeper?

Well, I did but I had the cross section lined up incorrectly.

Thanks for the example, Robert. That did the trick. :)

Make sure the spline ring is centered on the x y origin before sweeping.
