markw
Thought I might try a bit of tree planting this weekend, using the TreeZ plug-in and HomeSlice's excellent PDF tut for reference. Also thought I would try for some hair leaves as well. However the plug-in seems to fail to generate the additional groups/levels in the model after running needed for the hair leaves. On starting, the plug-in tells you how many levels its going to make but once its run, it soon becomes evident that it never actually bothered to make them. So my question is; is this a new problem with TreeZ in AMv16a or a problem with TreeZ & Macs or a combination of the two maybe? Has anyone else noted this? I'm on a Mac running 10.6.8 with A:M v16a. Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted June 25, 2011 Hash Fellow Share Posted June 25, 2011 I've never used Treez, where's the tut that explains it so I can try it?
markw
I've never used Treez, where's the tut that explains it so I can try it? HomeSlice's tut can be found here; TreeZ Tut. There's also an example project in there that he's done and his models do have the extra groups generated by the plug-in.
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted June 25, 2011 Hash Fellow Share Posted June 25, 2011 After a cursory try in v16b I find I get a tree but no "levels"
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted June 25, 2011 Hash Fellow Share Posted June 25, 2011 It works in V15 for me but not in v16 so I've made an AMReport of it.

mtpeak2
John, the plugin works, except it doesn't create the group levels that it's suppose to.

markw
Thanks for the confirmation everyone. TGA images and patches it is then for the foliage until there's a fix.
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted June 26, 2011 Hash Fellow Share Posted June 26, 2011 You can still make your tree in V15 if you have it and use the result in v16
markw
I had the same thought. Sadly no luck there for me, it seems it was broke in 15j+ on Macs as well. Still, on the positive side, TGAs will render quicker than hair!
mtpeak2
It's not that difficult to create your own level groups.
