paradymx Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Been working on this fighter to relax between my other projects. Not sure how many Macross/Robotech fans there are here, but I used to love this series as a kid. So I tried to model a Veritech. Fair warning.....I'm not the best of modelers so I KNOW there are multiple areas where the splinage could be improved, as well as the rigging and decals. But like I said it was for fun. Here's the quick demo I put together: VT_run01.mov These are the three modes Fighter--------- Gerwalk/Guardian---------- Battloid I did some varients as well: I am going to upload this model and the pose project to the forums for everyone. If someone could chime in and suggest the best way to upload it(should I just embed and do a separate file for the maps or do a zip?) and to what section(not sure if I should do it here or the resources) Hopefully, some users will take an interest and improve the model, and make some custom varients to post. We could end up with our own Hash RDF fleet. Quote
Admin Rodney Posted May 24, 2011 Admin Posted May 24, 2011 Wow. Those are some impressive mechs! Nice job. There are several ways to get all your files into one place for sharing. One is to place all of your assets into a Project file and then use the Consolidate option to save them all into a Zip file. This is better than using Embed in Project as that does not add any images with the files. (Note: You can Embed before Consolidating or Zipping as you see fit) A downside of using Consolidate is that it will store all of the assets in the same directory structure as the original files. So, if you have an external drive or USB storage available you may want to consider using that as a temporary location to prevent excessive file structures being generated when the assets are unzipped. The best way I've found to include all files is what was used when making the original A:M Extra CD. All of the files required for a Model or Project were placed in the same directory folder and then that folder was compressed into a Zip file. I hope you plan to use these (or variations) in your SciFiHigh series! That's an outstanding fly through. Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted May 24, 2011 Hash Fellow Posted May 24, 2011 Nice looking bots! I think the best thing is to save the model to a folder that already has the bitmaps in it, then ZIP the folder. Quote
paradymx Posted May 24, 2011 Author Posted May 24, 2011 Thanks guys... I think they turned out pretty good for the amount of time I put into them. Still working on episode 4 of SCIFI High. Been focused the last couple months on the ol' portfolio, but I'm back in production as we speak. As promised here the ZIP file for the model and the poses. This is the first thing I've ever contributed to the forums. I figured after all the service and help this place has given me over the years; it was time to give back. Hope to see some improvements and variations posted soon. VT.zip Enjoy! Quote
Admin Rodney Posted May 25, 2011 Admin Posted May 25, 2011 Thanks! If it's okay with you I may move this topic to the Models section (A:M Exchange forum). I'm torn between putting it in the Characters section or the Vehicles section... hmmm.... what do you think? I hope when you get rich and famous and all the other interests keep pulling your attention away, you'll still be able to take time for SciFiHigh. It's a great concept with great characters and great potential. Quote
paradymx Posted May 25, 2011 Author Posted May 25, 2011 I would call it a vehicle, it has to be piloted... Thanks Rodney.....SCIFI High is fun to do...... and I have soooo many ideas. Now if I could find more time..... Quote
