I purchased a copy of Animation Master about 6 years ago at a comic book convention. The price of your software attracted me and the demonstration at the convention displayed it's user friendliness. I later learned that I needed the CD Rom to unlock the program each time I wanted to work on it. So I hesitated installing it on any computer fearing I would loose the disk. Needing the CD Rom in hand to unlock the program is very impractical for me. Does Hash offer a new version of Animation Master that does not require me to use the CD Rom to unlock the program for each use ? Thanks for your help. Gerry Posted March 5, 2011 Share Posted March 5, 2011 Yup, $79/yr for a downloadable subscription version, but it's then usable only on the machine it's installed on. this works fine if you're using just one machine. You still are entitled to the updates throughout the subscription year, then the next year it's another $79. This works well for lots of people. And welcome to the forum. Fuchur Posted March 5, 2011 Share Posted March 5, 2011 Yes there is a new version. The subscription-version doesn't need the CD to be in the drive. This one however can only be used on one computer for one year. After that you will have to buy a new subscription to make it available for another year. You will be able to update your version while the subscription is active to the newest version available so (including major releases). But just to say it: Many users used A:M for years and years (including me) and didn't have any problems with the CD. Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted March 5, 2011 Hash Fellow Share Posted March 5, 2011 It's a lot easier to replace a CD than six years! the year-by-year license is a nice option vs. the CD but I got lots of work done with the CD version, never missed a deadline because of it and never lost one. It's like anything else of value that you carry around, like your cel phone or your credit cards or the pill you have to take at 3PM... you're careful with it.
