Masna Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 This really has nothing to do with A:M. It's about the avatar (if that's even what they're called) that is placed next to your name. I can't seem to find the setting to add an avatar to my profile. Are there certain specifications that you have to follow when adding an avatar? Thanks, Masna Quote
Caroline Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 Click on My Controls at the top right, and on the left in Personal Profile you will see Edit Avatar Settings. The avatar needs to be 64 pixels by 64. Quote
Masna Posted April 1, 2008 Author Posted April 1, 2008 i made mine the joker and batsy Cool! Did you make that yourself? It's really good. Quote
Masna Posted April 2, 2008 Author Posted April 2, 2008 Heh heh. Takes true talent to do something like that, Phatso. Quote
GAngus Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Heh heh. Takes true talent to do something like that, Phatso. I'm wondering how people get an animated avatar in that box. I have seen some amazing ones here. As a wild guess, it could be linked to one's own website for it to animate correctly. The only size restriction I read about (Caroline) here, was that it be only 64 bits square. Quote
Caroline Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 That's something I'd like to do too one day. There's this thread: Avatar creation Quote
Masna Posted April 3, 2008 Author Posted April 3, 2008 Great find Caroline, one of the funniest threads i've seen on hash yet. Maybe I should consider making mine animated too. Or make it into an oranger sphere... Quote
johnl3d Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 Phatso you need an avatar so here is one for you Quote
Masna Posted April 3, 2008 Author Posted April 3, 2008 Nice one John! I started making an orange ball exploding but I have to get some shut eay for tonight. Quote
Masna Posted April 3, 2008 Author Posted April 3, 2008 Hey everyone, I did some searching myself and found some very strange and mysterious threads. Seems this orange sphere project was for some reason aborted. Creepy... O_o http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showt...=15500&st=0 Obnamunk and followers sure are strange. Oh John, Did you make that Homer Simpson? It's great! Quote
Masna Posted April 4, 2008 Author Posted April 4, 2008 Hmm... Strange, he's not in my library. (Probably off, scarfing down doughnuts.) Mmmm... Donuts. * Starts foaming from the mouth.* Quote
Masna Posted April 6, 2008 Author Posted April 6, 2008 Thanks John. Edit- I don't have access to A:M on the weekends so I can't download it right now. Quote
phatso Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 tnx john, I dunno how to put it in the avatar space but I'll figger it out. (I'm kinda slow at these things.) (No, I'm really slow at these things.) Quote
GAngus Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 Phatso you need an avatar so here is one for you So John, what would be a general work flow for that avatar you made for Phatso. Can it all be done within A:M somehow ? Thanks Quote
johnl3d Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 not completely if you want it animated ...animate gif file...you do the animation in AM to the correct size or at least close then use another program to take the animation and convert it to a an animated gif. There some free ones I used imageready part of photoshop. But t could be done with others that can import an avi and convert to the animated gif. If you need help email me at the email you get when you click on my avatar Quote
johnl3d Posted April 7, 2008 Posted April 7, 2008 phatso save image to your hard drive click on my controls at the top of forum on the left edit avatar settings browse and upload image .. Quote
Masna Posted April 11, 2008 Author Posted April 11, 2008 Hey John, What exactly is your avatar? It's like a walking, flaming, high heeled... egg thing. Quote
Masna Posted April 12, 2008 Author Posted April 12, 2008 I don't think so... I'll google it I guess. Quote

johnl3d Posted April 13, 2008 Posted April 13, 2008 here is the original model I did not model it as noted above MrBall.zip Quote
Masna Posted April 13, 2008 Author Posted April 13, 2008 Thanks. What exactaly was Animation Mentor? Was it like a much less advanced A:M used to teach students new to animation? Quote
Masna Posted April 13, 2008 Author Posted April 13, 2008 I played around with the model a bit. The rigging is really unique. It's fun to make animations with Mr.Ball once you get used to his rigging. Quote

Masna Posted April 13, 2008 Author Posted April 13, 2008 Thanks for the link, It looks like a great website. I had a lot of fun making walk cycles for Mr.Ball. Theres a big mistake at the end where he stops walking, but I'm impatient so I didn't rerender it. Mr.Ball_Animation.mov Quote
johnl3d Posted April 14, 2008 Posted April 14, 2008 Masna check your compression settings ..a smaller file will get a bigger audience Quote
Masna Posted April 14, 2008 Author Posted April 14, 2008 How do I edit my compression settings? (Sorry if it's too big.) Quote
Masna Posted April 14, 2008 Author Posted April 14, 2008 I fixed it and I tried to make it smaller. I don't know if it worked though. Mr.Ball_Animation_Take_2.mov Quote
