johnl3d
I thought about this when I posted my first tutorial on johnl3d.blogspot.com I used a pose without explaining how... so I guess that should be my next tutorial. I find creating a pose to do an effect very useful . In this example to show what I mean I have a rough egg shape change color then disappear..go transparent.. I set this up with two simple poses..which are set up in the action window where you set up a new pose. I could have made an action but that would require more work and more setup in the end. Here I imported the same model into the chor and scaled it so each fit inside the other then simply move the pose over time for each one ...pose 1 to change the color over 15 frames then pose 2 to to cause the disappearance in turn for each one. It was easy and I could complete control for example I could have done both poses together or in different combinations to increase the effect. pose.mov pose.zip sorry to interrupt my sabbatical from posting
Caroline
I guess also a pose travels with the model, whereas an action is independent. Thought - does this mean that you can't reuse a pose on a different model like you can an action?
johnl3d
Caroline I 'm not sure about transfering poses so I can't give you a good answer.
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted March 3, 2008 Hash Fellow Share Posted March 3, 2008 The only way I can think of transferring a pose is to extract it from one .mdl file and paste it into another .mdl with a text editor. Haven't tried it and it would probably lend itself to poses on bones only.
paradymx
The only way I can think of transferring a pose is to extract it from one .mdl file and paste it into another .mdl with a text editor. Haven't tried it and it would probably lend itself to poses on bones only. You can, but it works like everything else. Example: I have template model heads that I use as a base for any full model. Sometimes when working with the model I find something that needs to be adjusted or just works better another way so I will change it. That new pose relationship can be dragged in the template model through the Project workspace and it will work so long as everything still aligns I.E.: the bones and CP#'s
