Nosferatu Posted September 30, 2005 Posted September 30, 2005 Experimenting with a hot, stylized sun. This is my first attempt. Next will have flames moving more slowly and face on sun. [attachmentid=9631] Sunshine.mov Quote

Heath_Naylor Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 I agree, I stopped and held my mouse over an edge of the circle just to see if it was really shrinking Quote
MattWBradbury Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 Did the same thing myself. The only thing is, it looks more like a flower than the sun. Quote
thebadgerette Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 I like it! You might make the rays different lengths to avoid the flower image; you may also want to use a paler more intense disk for the sun (or put a face on it??) to make it look like light source. It does kinda look like a flower with the disk being tan like that, but it's a neat sun. Elena Quote

Actually, my plan is to do just as you suggested. I'm currently working on slowing down the flames. Next comes staggering the flame lengths and experimenting with a more stylized flame shape, and finally he will have a face modeled in. I'm going to give him that thick-lipped face that is common on grandfather clocks and Angelina Jolie. Right now, the orb is actually red-orange, but the combination of glow and proximity to yellow flames makes it look a little washed out. That will be fixed as the lab work continues. Nos Quote

MattWBradbury Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 You could make the sun look like this one. That was actually me. My brother didn't log out of his name. Drives me nuts sometimes Quote
