filipmun Posted July 1, 2005 Posted July 1, 2005 I was looking for 3d web viewer and forgot about this plugin, I remember it was in the forum in the past. I need to study its features and would like to make comparison, anyone have some samples? The one from their website does not have anything like that. Thank you. Quote
KenH Posted July 1, 2005 Posted July 1, 2005 Erm. I think it's been discontinued. The last real working version was v8 but the v11 one was ok if unstable. That's the one on their site. However, Hash is committed to realtime 3D content so don't be surprised if they take up the torch. Quote
jon Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 arctic pigs is the sleeping beauty of the animation master world. unless you have a copy of a:m v8.5 lying around, you can't develop in it. i do, and do... and you can see several samples of it on my site. i wait impatiently for someone to champion the development of realtime 3d for a:m, cuz it's the future... plain and simple. -jon Quote
John Bigboote Posted July 14, 2005 Posted July 14, 2005 Yes, Jonathin's probably the most prolific AP user out there...and he IS out there... Seriously tho--- The last I heard about it was that Nils (AP's creator) had visited Hash last summer or so and that they needed to work things out with the new SDK... It would be great if we could get an official comment from HashLand about AP's status. It looked very promising as it ran in my V11, and the improvements over the V8 were BIG...with interactivity being the biggest 'cool thing' In my dream world, where Pam Anderson serves me ice-cold Goebel beer, I am able to import AP choregraphies into FLASH.... mmmmmmm---- Quote
Fuchur Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 Maybe in Director, but I dont think that it will be ever in Flash... I talked with the arcticpigs-crew some time ago, and they gave me a new version of it to test a bit... so I dont think it is all lost or something... just sleeping... I really hope, that it is going on... my new webpage is ready for arctic pigs-content already... Would like to see it coming as soon as possible... Otherwise I had to go with Quest3d and I really dont like moving there, even if it is a bit more powerful or something... nothing is cooler than resolution independent web3d with this small filesizes... *Fuchur* Quote
jon Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 i didn't see a web viewer for quest 3d. once the new sdk is ready, they can add a:m native support! -jon Quote
Fuchur Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 From their site: "Quest3D projects can be published as a web page, executable or as a project file. If you want to view a project that was not published as an executable, you need to have the correct viewers installed." But I really want to have Arctic Pigs back in action... It is the only application which is resolution independent and has very very small filesizes... And that is something, what is really really important for web-projects... *Fuchur* Quote
seven Posted August 6, 2005 Posted August 6, 2005 This is what you are told here: http://www.arcticpigs.com/content_down.htm 3D viewer for internet explorer The 3D viewer is an ActiveX control for IE. If you have already downloaded an run one of the demo's you do not need this install. Click here to download. DEMO plug-in for animation:master V8.5 This demo plug-in only works with Animation:Master V8.5. You can still download the plug-in but we no longer sell the upgrade to the full version. Check the new beta version of the plug-in which works with AM V11. Click here to download. Beta downloads Download the beta version of the new 3D viewer and Animation:Master V11 plug in. Currently there are no demo's on the website that utilize the new viewer. Only download this viewer if you are an AM user and want to test the new plug-in. Click here to download. The plugin is for Internet Explorer! - not really good! Why not make a plugin compatible with all browsers? Why not make the plugin in Java? And why cannot A:M and ArcticPig work together with some firm having a plugin - my favorite is AXEL from Mindavenue: http://www.mindavenue.com/en/home/ AXEL is interactive - programmable - in an easy way - why not use the code from ArcticPig inside AXEL - it is just for the right person to have a phone call - beginning a discussion - starting some development together with someone having the resources. And I believe all of the firms would benefit from it! Some action - thanks! Quote
John Bigboote Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Axel??? Looks cool! Too bad A) no hash .mdl import won't work within Mozilla Firefox...my browser of addiction... Quote
Fuchur Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 I tried many 3d-interactive-programms in the last few weeks for my company, and Axel is not really good... If you want the power to handle many polys, try Quest3d, SubDo or Anark Studio... (I like Quest3d...) BUT, THEY ARE ALL POLYGONE-PROGRAMMS! Arctic Pigs has two really big advantage: It uses Splines... That means: Veryvery small filesizes... no resolutionproblems... See you *Fuchur* Quote
jon Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 don't sully your hands with those pointy little polys. even as we type, hash is working feverishly on delivering unto us a new realtime 3d viewer, which will be the heart of a new shiney spliney web 3d plugin. behold! -jon Quote
sculptorpro Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 Am just revisiting AP and am wanting to know if I need the 3d viewer to view scenes created on my own computer with the full version of AP installed on AM 8.5? If I do need it where can I get it as the AP site is not downloading anything at the moment. Quote
jon Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 yep... you'll need the arcticpigs 3d viewer to view any ap content. i sure hope it's a very temporary kinda thing... -jon Quote
