starwarsguy Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 This has been lying around for some time. Newbert posted his, so I thought I'd post it. The stripe down the middle is a decal error that I never took the time to fix. If you look closely, I modeling all of the details into the blade (indentations, curves, etc.). I'm trying to make a bunch of good models for a free model site... Quote
jesshmusic Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 Good show! That's a nice looking sword. Quote
paulmcg1 Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 Can you post some wireframes if you can of the top of the sword to show how you made the tip of it pointed. Thanks Quote
starwarsguy Posted January 25, 2005 Author Posted January 25, 2005 It's actually quite simple. From my drawing, I made the smaller part which would be the flat edge of the blade. Then I copied it, and used "lock" so that I could only alter that. Then I made it slightly larger than the original and moved it down, then connected them. Same for the other side. Actually, I used that same techinique for the hilt. Quote
lazz Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 That is really good! I like the textures you used on it. Adds to the realism. -Robert Quote
Sacman Posted January 27, 2005 Posted January 27, 2005 That's fun. I was just posting on my sword thread how I probably should have bumped the handle of the hilt and then I look at your and it is almost identical. Good work! I like it. Wade Quote
