i did one early on when I was starting. At that point it took about 45 minutes to render, wouldn't surprise me if it took 2 hours to render now. I'll do one when the ship is done

speaking of procedurals, I found out the other day that one of the turbulences (perlin I think) was created by the special effects artist for the original Tron film and the purpose of the turb was for Tron. Nifty little facts you find on wikipedia
-
I'm assuming this must be quicker to render than a model(?)
-
and Rob has done it again. Next thing we know Rob will have built a model as detailed as Al's Discovery or something, except completely with procedural materials!
-
I've begun throwing some colours on the areas that are complete (fuselage being the exception) but it's really beginning to look like a colonial viper!
-
um, 12%? I dunno *sweats and panics* I have only a little of the modeling left. I just have the rest of the interior of the cockpit to model and then these side things on the fuselage, but I'm kinda stuck on those at the moment, the main problem is getting it to fit in with the mesh. Then it's texturing time

I have the side engines complete and just a few minor things left to the top engine Model is currently at 10,660 patches

those be the pics I've been using as my rotos and references, though I have a few more, a close-up of the engine, a different one of the cockpit
-
Now is one of the tricky parts as I have no exact references, just fish eye views and angled pics, but I have begun work on the interior of the cockpit:

thanks. I think a lot of it comes down to having the patience to do it. I have patience, but only to a certain degree. I think part of it is just me developing the patience to see this through
-
Not a huge progress report, but I've begun the under-carriage. I was gonna do the cockpit, but I think I'm avoiding it ATM
-
I was gonna try and work my way up, doing the mark VII next, then a raider, raptor, galactica, but there's no reason why two of us can't model the same thing
-
well, I been beveling the easy stuff, though it's very time consuming
-
well, I've only put bevels on the wings cause those general get a fair bit of close up time like when it's in the hanger bay

no, I have no idea what Sweeper is.
