  1. Thank you all for the comments, they are greatly appreciated. The torso is supposed to be kinda big (although i can see how it'd become an animation problem) .yeah, i'll post a wire for the hands, although they're basically following Colin Freeman's excellent Cooper tutorials.
  2. nice lighting, it looks great. did you use Yves skin shader on her? How about Porcelain? sorry for all the questions, great work though.
  3. and a CU on the face... Ps. i noticed that the inges on the knee seem transparent, ignore that, it´s fine on my PC (it's my crappy Opengl support, my card sux)
  4. I´ve been working on this model on and off for about 3 wks and here´s what i´ve got so far. I just wanted to know if anyone had any crits efore moving on to rigging. Thanks for all and any comments. Here´s the front
  5. that's a nice looking cat, it almost want to pet it were it not hairless. Seriously, though i tink the forehead might be a bit too dense, unless that's so that the hair won't require such a high density Anyway, good job
  6. what kind of Pc are you using!!!!! 32k patches!!!!! whoa, great tree!!
  7. How about Pedro? or Panfilus? (weird names huh?) or go for a silly name like Froggy?!?!....I´ll stop now
  8. thank you all, i will try to reduce the density of the lip, and as for the facial structure, well really he was a happy accident and the robot thing was an after thought, i think i will make him comical though.
  9. hmm, is the image a final render or a real time one? bc that could expalain the diffs in the hair color. Great work though, however (and this could be me) i think there´s a tiny crease at the top left corner of her forehead, again this could be the result of a real time render. Anyway, keep up the good work!
  10. why thank you! It really means a LOT to me.
  11. Hello to all, I´ve started a new project where I´ll have a robotic character with an organic mask for a face. I´ve working hard for the last week and here´s what I´ve got, I´d really appreciate some critiques. Thanx already! PS. has anyone noticed how OpenGL is WAY better for displaying wireframes?
  12. that´s one really good looking dino, how´d ya do the lighting? i see lots of people using this kind of lighting but i´m oblivious as to how to produce it, anyway great work
  13. you know, i could swear that i´ve ped there before!
  14. that's a great model, however isn't it a bit dense? Hmm, try to lower the spline count on his forehead since it won't be animated. Also there's a slight crease on the chin, (unattached splines?) anyway that looks awesome!
  15. hmm, thanks but i´m trying to stay away from radiosity and the huge rendertimes (i have an 800MHz celeron!).
  16. so, has this even been modeled in A:M, BTW nice lighting and tyhe modeling is just awesome! also, having played Alien vs Predator 2 (the game), i can tell ya your model kix the crap out of the in game ones!
  17. i think that's the direction of the klieg light. Anyway, ray-traced shadows look very grainy even at 10 ray cast
  18. hmmm.... why didn´t anyone respond? Anyway, i discovered that Klieg lights are the only ones giving me these artifacts! is this normal? i´m using two w/ z buffered soft shados at around 60% softness and 1024 map size. HELP!!!!
  19. wow, John i just can't get past that lighting, it looks great. I recently discovered/downloaded Skycast but i haven't had a chance to toy around with it,(plus i have to create a 2d anim for my chem class) however upon looking at it i'm scared about the rendertime on my 800MHz celeron. Could your machine specs and how long that render's taking? As for the model it looks awesome as is, if u do leave the crotch that long, try to hide the anim from your daughter ;-) Kidding! keep up the good work
  20. how about trying yves' skin shader on her? i think it'd look great a you can apply decals on top o' that.
  21. actually, there aren´t splines there and the wires can be found @ http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=10374&hl=semi the forehead hasn´t changed althougt the cheeks have!
  22. hi, i just posted in the general A:M forum but it seems i can´t post images there. Well here´s the render i mentioned w/ my makeshift area light. I think it looks alright but there are artifacts that bother me a bit, in the form of weird shadows in the forehead. However, i believe it´s the lighting since the model has already been smoothed out w/ porcelain and it´s articfact-less w/ the default chor lights. Any thoughts?
  23. she looks a bit older, don´t you think? i looks great though, did you use porcelain at all, if ot try it and i guarantee that it´ll look better. Also, how about posting wiresframes? Anyway, keep up the good work.
  24. That looks great, however i would also like to see some wire frmes b/c u seem to have some creasing under the nose and where the eyebrow meets the nose. Other than that good work!
