Did you send them an email?
Yes. I was hoping for a response so I could have it up and running for the weekend. I got the automated response but nothing after that. Is the only way to reset the subscription done through Hash? If it is, I'm not very happy with the lack of support here.

I called Hash support yesterday and was hoping to get someone on the phone like I use to. Instead it directed me to the email address and told me for a quicker response, go to this forum. I hate doing business like this. It's so much easier to talk to someone than it is playing email tag.
I REALLY want to transfer my subscription to my new (way faster) computer. I'm sure somebody has done this already. If so would you please tell me what you did?
This is one of the things I don't like about a subscription based plan. With the CD, you can just re-install. Is there a way that I can de-activate my old PC and start it on the new one?
Thanks,
George

support@hash.com will probably know how to do that.
Thank you Holmes

I just got a new (way faster) computer and need to have the subscription transfered to it. How do I do that?

Would love to try doing the chariot at some point as well. Really need to learn organic modelling so I can start working on some human characters. Ohhh... the pain... the pain...
Al
The Chariot would be cool but My absolute favorite vehicle that appeared in the later episodes was the space pod. I always thought it was cool to see the pod exiting the Jupiter 2. It even had the spiral lights on the bottom like the Jupiter 2 if I remember correctly.

Thank you Al for sharing your INCREDIBLY AWESOME B9!!!!
Lost in Space was my favorite t.v. show when I was a kid. As much as I love your modeling Al, as a big LIS fan, I gave some thought about your comment (about wishing Dr. Smith had stayed menacing) and I have to disagree. In my opinion Smith could not have stayed as the cold hearted spy assassin as he was portrayed in the beginning episodes. I believe most people who watched would not have accepted Dr. Smith as a viable crew member if he didn't either lighten up (become cowardly) or become sympathetic. I think the audience (of THAT time period) would have wanted the Robinsons to either execute hime or truly leave him on an asteroid. Also, I think the brilliance of Smith being outwardly confident but subconsciously cowardly and pathetic yet have a devious and conniving persona was perfect to offset the "Cleaver family" Robinsons. John Robinson was the strong leader character. He was the perfect busy father figure who put his family first and would defend his family with his life. Don was like a favorite Uncle who although knew John was the boss, he could easily step in when John was away and you never doubted his loyalty. I also really liked the open animosity between Don and Smith. If Smith would not have changed, there would have been a serious personality clash that I believe would not have worked. Also, his connection and affection for Will actually helps to humanize him. It also allowed the program to be more than just a Sci-fi show. It had very heart felt moments and each show was like a rollercoaster ride that you didn't want to get off. I'm deliberately not mentioning the females. Because (I think) of the time period they didn't do much with the female characters and their parts didn’t really affect Smith’s character if I remember correctly.
I think Jonathan Harris did an excellent job in his portrayal of Dr. Smith. By making Smith less threatening, it's easier to accept him being around. Had Smith’s character not changed, I think there would have been too much testosterone in the story.
I seem to remember reading an article where Jonathan Harris said he deliberately changed Smith's character because he didn't think He'd last. I'll see if I can find it and post the link.
Edit:
OK I found this Wikipedi article that is very interesting. He (Jonathan Harris) changed the character because Zachary Smith was originally suppose to be killed off. Very interesting stuff here. Scroll down to the Lost in Space section:

Just my LIS 2 cents.
Again Al, FANTASTIC JOB on the B9 model. I have a personal appreciation for your talent with this model (and your Jupiter 2). I tried to model this many times and gave up because I couldn't get the patches to look smooth enough with the cut outs. I'm absolutely... I can't even find the words to describe my feelings. I'm speechless.

OH MY GOD!!!!
I'm so jealous. I tried to model this a while ago and gave up after I couldn't get the cut out for the neon voice light look right. HOW THE HECK DID YOU DO THIS?!?!?!?
I had asked Stian for his help and even with Stian's model example, I still couldn't get it smooth.
Al, would you PLEASE post a wire frame so I could at least see the splinage?

WOW! That looks great!!
The detail is outstanding!!

Looks great Ken!!!

Very cool model!!!!!
You should chamfer (round) the corners on the robot arms and legs. It will add to RetroBot's realsm. Excellent job!!

Holmes,
Have the Pessim shots been cut or are they still in? If in, how much time do I have to finish them?
George

WOW!!!
Al, this is a FANTASTIC model. I remember watching it progress. Thank you so much for sharing it!!

Thanks Al! Your modeling skills are incredible!!!!!

Hey good job! The tree and face look great! I'd experiment more with the bark though. Maybe find a bark jpg and make a material bitmap? Here's an example of a quick bark material I made using the material plugin.
Here's a pic
Here's the project and model if interested.

Thank you Mark and Steve.
Nancy, thank you for the links. I'll see if it can solve my problem.
Thanks again guys!

The final product came out great!!!!!
I think you'll win. Good luck!

Thanks Steve.
I just tried to play it again first through A:M and just by clicking on the file and they both crashed. Then I tried something that I thought would do the same thing but I was able to play it by downloading the file from the post. Weird.
Any idea as to how I could fix my player? I've already uninstalled Quicktime and downloaded the latest version. I'm thinking I need a codec?

Same for me - rendered fine from action. And as well when I added Pessim to the chor with the action
However there are way too many things (and info) missing from the project to try to duplicate your problem - like all materials (hair), the sound file especially, your settings that you are using for rendering. (yes I know - I could get them from svn - but that wouldn't duplicate your problem either)
Perhaps - you might try some stuff to eliminate things as well.
Can you render from the action window (not chor)? with sound file? without sound file? with hair? without hair? What are your render settings?
I thought if I embedded the choreography that the model with the materials and such would get embedded too. Apparently not.
What I did Nancy is, I created a new project, imported Pessim and the action I created. I rendered "the action" window using a few different formats: MPEG-4 video, H.264 and animation with the render quality set to shaded. I also tried it with OpenGL and Direct3D v8. Both OpenGL and Direct3D v8 appear to render fine (OpenGL rendered much faster for me) but when I try to view the mov, QT crashes.
I just thought about how I can see if it has to do with my QuickTime or not. I'll attach my rendered file.
Please tell me if you can view this mov.

Renderd in the action window fine ,not everything is embeded like hair and other stuff ,maybe that makes a differance
I tried to embedded the chor and action (which should have included the sound file I'd think) without the other objects so I could eliminate other possible factors as to why I couldn't get the render to play.
I noticed the sound wasn't there with your render. I take it the sound didn't get embedded with the action. Hmm....
Thank you for the help. It's much appreciated.

Hi all,
I've attached a chor with an action I've modifed for my shot for Pessim. For some reason I cannot render the action without Quicktime 7 crashing. I've uninstalled and re-installed the latest Quicktime 2 times now thinking maybe I had a corrupted file. I then did a test render using Pessim creating an action from scratch and it renders fine.
The original action used the dopesheet for the lipsync. I prefer the null controls so I redid the lipsync using the face interface. To make sure the animation is correct, I always do a test render. For some reason it won't render.
Thinking that the action file some how got corrupted, I created a new chor-action, copied and pasted the keys I created with the face interface in the original action and saved it out as a new action. It still won't render.
Would someone please try to render the action to see if it is something I'm missing (maybe a codec) or validate that the file is corrupt?
Here's the attached chor with the action embedded.
EDIT:
The cho I attached didn't seem to work so here's a project.
Thanks,
George

Haven't had a chance to do anything on the shot worthy of posting, but I did play around with the Pessim vocals to try to get a "small" sounding voice effect. Unfortunately the best I could get was Pessim sounding like he's talking over a phone or radio transmission.
Bottom line is I couldn't get a good enough effect (not to mention for some reason it also had crackles or popping) so I couldn't get it to work.

WOW! That's a cool effect!!!!
I know it's a quick test but when you do the final where it lines up perfectly, it's going to look great!!!
Excellent work!!!
