  1. I noticed that since i've installed vers 15, my library is all but gone. Unlike previous versions, this didn't ask me if I wanted to "copy the CD data". So now all my actions, models, etc have to be "shortcut" back in. Is there an easier fix?
  2. Might be the play range. I'll have to check that tomorrow. Reason why I say that, is because I can render the entire animation (10 seconds) to a file, but when I click the "play" button, it stops at like 6 seconds, etc. update: Ok...im in the program now, but do not see options for the "playrange". Anyone know where these are? Here is a screen shot of what i'm talking about: UPDATE2: Ok...figured it out! As the poster above stated, it's the "playrange" setting. But you have to set it to "extent". Phew! Thanks for the help!
  3. Trying to do a quick animation of a model walking over and hugging another character. However, 3/4 of the way through, the "hugging" character just stops. The timeline halts. (The scroll bar on the bottom still shows there is some more "scroll" to it) but nothing. I'm using (well, attempting) keyframes. I'm using version 15a. Any thoughts off hand? Other things I thought of are, i'm clicking "shift+keyframe" and selecting the first option. Animation seems to working well, but it just stops. Any suggestions? Help? Thanks.
  4. Off the top of my head, I would say make sure your vid card drivers are updated and that you are running the latest version of DirectX. Also, turn off any running processes in the background that are needed. You can check these at www.blackviper.com. Background processes will eat your memory and possible cause the crashing. Just some thoughts.
  5. Yea...I did some searching and found that, also got a quick reply from support. Been awhile since I was on here. Was freaking out, thought my Disc was bad! So version 15 is the "new" upgrade? And I assume the 15.0a is a patch for the v15 then, correct?
  6. Hi. I purchased the 15.0 v of the A:M DISC (the upgrade from the previous version). I did buy this on this site. Now, when I put the disc in the drive and click the shortcut, it says it can't find the disc? I tried it on two different computers and the same problem appears. Is it the disc? The disc seems "level" when placed on a flat surface..... any ideas please?? update: If I put the disc in, and run the 13.0v shortcut, it runs. But when I run the 15.0v it says "insert the correct DVD-ROM(HASH)". I haven't used this in awhile, so it wasn't sitting by any heat or anything.... update 2: Ok...bare with me. The 12.0 version of the disc has the YETI. The NEXT version of the disc with the OZ image, (which is the upgrade I purchased), is that version 15 or is version 15 a separate purchase online? I haven't been on here in awhile, so i might be a little behind on this. thanks for any help.
  7. I've had this program for awhile now, but I still go over the exercises again and again.
  8. Hey everyone. Hope the Holidays aren't too stressful for ya! Couple questions: 1: How do I change the background in my Chor so it's basically a "grey" floor with a black background, etc? 2: The Lamp-Desk (the pixar looking one): the Bones aren't completely connected together. WHen I move one part of the lamp, one "rod" of it doesn't move. How do I connect these or does someone have one that is complete? Thanks! Steven
  9. What does the "Fall off" do? Does that "dim" the light? UPDATE: Ok..just experimented with that. Definatley makes it "dimmer". Very nice! Just have to work on changing the ground to "gray" and the back ground to black. Then, hopefully start my project.
  10. Thanks! I think i'm getting the hang of this now. I saved it and it worked. How do I reduce the brightness of the light? I'm currently in the program now going back and forth...
  11. Doing that now. Did you constrain it in the model window? And when I open the choreography, you said you import it....so does that mean I would have to save it first then import?
  12. Thanks. I"ll have to try these. I'm having the hardest time with adding a light to a lamp and having it stay put.
  13. Ok.. i'm attempting to add a light to my lamp so I can have it turn off/on, etc. However, I can only move the light left or right or back or forward. I can't move it up or down?? I press the "N" key but the only option is left or right. What is going on? Anyone?
  14. If your light is in your model it shouldn't move unless you move the model itself. If you have followed instructions by others above and made the light a child of another bone then the light will move when that other bone moves. Making it independent of the other bone will keep it from moving. What are you seeing on your end? Ok...home now and trying this out. I'm in the "model" mode and don't see where I can add a light. Am I missing something here? I was thinking I could add a light and make it a part of the model itself......i'm so confused. UPDATE: Ok...i've added the light to the lamp in the MODEL section. What i'm confused about, is how to keep it from moving. I want it to look like a real "light". When the lamp moves, the light moves as well. I'm confused on the "constraint" part......
  15. I'm still new at all this, but to all you that have helped me and all you that probably will in the future (haha), a big heartfelt thanks to all the information you guys have given me. Hope all your holidays are great! Steven
  16. If your light is in your model it shouldn't move unless you move the model itself. If you have followed instructions by others above and made the light a child of another bone then the light will move when that other bone moves. Making it independent of the other bone will keep it from moving. What are you seeing on your end? I'll have to try this sometime tomorrow. I was experimenting with adding a light. If I create the light (right click, select new, then light) in the MODEL view, then go to the CHOR view and animate during a "full render mode", will I see the light shine then? Sorry, it's 12am right now other wise I would load up the program and check. Just heading to get some rest now.
  17. ok. So my other question is, how do I keep that light from moving around? I want it to be a "fixture" with the lamp. Also, you say to add it in the action section. So would I create separate "light" actions (on/off) etc per light then add that light to the model in the choreography? And someone get it to not move in the choreography. Sorry for all the questions, i'm still a major beginner. I bought the one book (big thick harry potter looking book) and i'm trying to understand that as well as the DVD's I bought. Sometimes I think I need it explained like a 1st grader! haha thanks for all info!
  18. Any "2 cents" is worth a "dollar" to me. What i'm looking to do is have 3 lights with 3 different colors moving around. So when I add the light, can I add it in the "model" section and make it a permanent fixture of the light? Also, can I easily turn it off and on when I want during the frames? I'm working on this right now, so maybe i'll answer my own questions....
  19. Thanks for the movie, it's helping. As far as the contraints, I do that like I would do the exercise where the rabbit has his hand attached to the door knob right? or is it done another way?
  20. I'm using the lamp from the disc. It seems that the actual light bulb does not have a "bone" attached to it. Would I have to attach a light source to that specific bone? I'm currently rendering my file so you can see what I mean. I'll upload it soon as it is done. Here is is: I want to put a light on the light bulb. LightMove2.mov
  21. I apologize, (PWS?) i'm not seeing any of that. I'm right clicking on the model too....
  22. So I right click on the actual LIGHT BULB or just anywhere in the choreography window? Thanks. S
  23. Afternoon everyone. I'm getting back into this again after the clean up here in California from the fires. So, I apologize if i'm rusty or sound stupid, but, I have an animation (simplistic), using the lamp (the pixar looking one). I want to animate it (which i've done so far). I want to have that light bulb turn on or stay on. How do I add a light source to the lamp? Thanks!
  24. Where did you get the Homer model?
