  1. If there's no decaling or rigging required on this guy, I'll take a potshot at him.

I'm the weekend warrior type, but I've done a few full-up chars before.

He's all your please let Mr higgins know so he can task you

    good luck

I'm not volunteering (got too much on my plate right now) but I'd be interested to know what role the lion has in this story. Considering he's not in the animatic....are we talking a cameo thing?

Cameo and building perhaps a trailer ala incredables that wont be in the picture.

  2. The rooster will have a shoe thrown at it. I wanted to give the animators the choice to use flapping wings if they wanted to. Seems to me that the rooster would flap around after the shoe shot. So yes, I modeled two different wing types. After doing some research on this, I could have done one set to do both, but time constraints didn't permit it.

If Bob wants heel spurs, I'll add them, but this isn't supposed to be too realistic, just cartoony.

This one gave his heel spurs to Roy....BT hes fine

  3. This one almost slipped through the cracks. Here is what I've got so far. Haven't changed the feet yet.

He looks great! do the feet and hes approved. Please send to Mark for rigging once the feet are done great Job\

  4. Here's the Generic Loon so far.

Generic looks fine consider him approved please send him to Mark Directly for rigging.sorry for the delay ive been up to my pipits in animation.

  6. So, are there proxy models for the characters?

I've been trying to animate a scene with Woot and a bunny and it's just excruciatingly slow. Move ... wait ...update ... rotate ... wait ... update ... undo ... wait ... move... etc. I've turned off all the dynamics and I'm working in wireframe to try and speed things up and it's still slow. Woot's like over 10000 patches. I'd wip up a proxy myself, but I'm afraid to dig into that rig to find the right bones to attach to.

    Any help?

    -Alonso

Have hope, we are making proxys now Alonso .Im on a p4 with a gig ram and its like molassas, help is just around the corner

Also the rigs have been fixed if you havent done a fresh download.

    BT

I did some experimenting and just deleting the group folder and face rig in a model, it goes up to 18fps. Also, just deleting for example the ropes on the scarecrow makes a big difference.

lets save the face for last we need expressions instead of switching out proxy for real to do the face.

  7. Hey peeps

It appears the scene has been changed and my original specs are altered- Bob could you let me have the updated approved desings and any scene change notes, or let me know where I can grab them?

  8. When I load the _1_01.prj in the Seq01-Opening folder (because I'll want to resave it with the chor for the shot I'm working on) it asks for numerous bitmap elements and at least one action that doesn't exist in the SVN folders.

I don't need any of them now, but these references aren't lost when I resave are they? I'm not messing up someone elses chor by resaving without having found them, am I?

Also I notice many obects are embedded in the prj rather than linked. What's our tipping point for deciding which way that goes?

Edit: I'm also wondering why the PRJ can't find the elements that DO exist inthe project folders. I have to lead it to them. I should have an exact mirror image of the folders so everything should be in the right place, right?

Edit Edit:Does this have anything to do with the fact that my TWO folder is not on the same letter drive as someone else's?

Robert why are you trying to save over that file?

  9. Thanks guys,

First off.. yes I figured this was a non neutral pose except for the brow. It was just easier to model like the image and pull it back later.

The more I look and think about the chin the less I like it.. I'm not sure how I worked myself into that corner but I'll fix it next.

Jim and Bob.. can one of you do a simple model sheet for her face and expressions (nothing fancy, I'm just trying to understand her brow line more and her mouth) if not.. I'll plug on with the pic I have.

Paul, I tried to move the hooks out of creases, and they move pretty well right now. I'll do some extreme poses when she's done and remodel some if they pop.

Eric, its just two renders layered in photoshop with a lighten layer effect. If you render large and scale down then the lines antialias. Both Renders are just screen grabs so the size and placement is easy.

    I'll post more later,

    C

    Maybe this will help.

  10. She looks great my only suggestion is to smooth in to the head her upper brow its a bit too severe.Acually she may have several wrinkle lines above the brow on the forhead Eventually you may want to bump in some age lines on the lips. She doesnt talk now but her role may grow, nice work Colin

  11. Ok, here she is, post surgery ... I also added the cape and capped her hair. Now onto the arms. Any other comments on things I need to address Jim or Bob?

  12. Looks good Feet on chief can be bigger and the average ones some where in between Nose looks great

lower jaw needs to come out a little others wise its approved

    .thanx

    BobT

Thanks Bob. I'll get on the jaw area, then send it to Jim.

I should ask about the nose. How do you want it for the Chief and the Generics? Bigger on the Chief and smaller on the Generics like the side ref you made?

    Yes please

  13. After doing an SVN update today, I find that my Sequence 1, sc04.wav is just noise. Doing a further update doesn't change it. I think it was OK previously, but maybe I'm just remembering hearing the .mov file instead.

It's not a crisis now, but what's our standard procedure for this kind of event??

I put a new track up on the svn for you.

  14. Jim's Ozma Sketch:

Been working on the old girl for a while so I decided it was probably time to post again. Here's what I've got so far. I still need to add some eyelashes and the flowers to her head ... some arms, a cape, and some feet would be nice too. Have we definately ruled out the use of simcloth? I was playing around with it for her dress and was actually able to get it work ... sort of. Anyway, let me know what you think.

    Kevin

Hey Kevin she looks great, just a little of the side view nose, front is great beautiful model

  15. Did we nail down an aspect ratio? I thought we said 16:9 at some point but all of the new work has been 4:3. I couldn't find anything in the wiki.

In the end it will be 16:9

But for now we are ruffing animation Ive avoided the whole subject of cam composition in 16:9 I just wan t acting and action now, we will do alot of recomposing later .The focal length s will vary all over the place no standard cam. 4:3 and 320 rez is fine for now.

    BobT.

  16. Me want, me want!

What exactly is a "proxy" model? Is that a model that is a-proxy-mately a model? Gee, I hope you have a sense of humor??

Seriously, do you need the whole scene modeled, or just the house?

    Eric

Hahahahhaahah yes Me has sense of hummmmmma.the proxy is a real lo rez interp of the set for animators to animate on then the real deal can be made and substituted later .Look on the svn at set chors and down load say the throne room to get an idea of how much detail.

If you want it its yours just let David higgins know so he can task it

  17. Hi Guys, not been following this part of the forum, so I am very confused.

I have a question or two that I would appreciate answers to(two?)

Ok with Nimmes house, is there a proxy set done? (inside/out)

I have prime responsibility for the model, but is that the set? That is do I create /assemble the whole thing building/props etc in the cho.?

    Is this the right thread?

Sorry about the dumb questions, just trying to get up to speed

    Chris

Here is the exterior of nimmies house

    That needs a proxy.

  18. Thanks alot John.

Bob: How's this look? Should I make all the loons (chief, generic) with feet this small compared to their bodies?

I got a pic of the side here so you can see the nose better.

Looks good Feet on chief can be bigger and the average ones some where in between Nose looks great

lower jaw needs to come out a little others wise its approved

    .thanx
