  1. Actually, everything we are putting up on the forums is WIP so things aren't set in stone. We really want to see some Final renders and what AM can do so we are rendering some things out to see how good they look. We will be refining all the walk cycles, run cycles and a bunch more when we get close to finishing scene1... ( which will be a little while)
  2. Hi Hashers, The mid-Atlantic animation master user group meeting went very well today. In attendance was Don Davis, Rich Jackson, Vern, John.R and our newest latest greatest member Eric.C. We had a great time including showing off some rendering and animation stuff we've all been working on. Rich showed us some great stuff he's been working on including his TWO work and also some dark skull production work. The Sentinel for the TecNu project that falls under the dark skull production umbrella is coming along and just about ready for some proxy test animations. Rich and I also posted some information's and a video in the showcase area of the forum. We've got plenty of feedback on what we've posted already and it's only been one day. That's extremely exciting for all of us that many animation master users are taking a look at what we've done so far and giving us feedback. I'm posting a couple of pictures from the meeting. Sorry the quality of isn't that great, but it's more or less to just prove that we actually had a meeting and believe it or not I think we all have a good time. For some reason I never actually get a picture of Vern looking at the camera. It's always a shot from the side or from the back. If you need to actually see Vern, just take a look at his icon. The pizza and cheese steaks were great and instead of working in animation master tomorrow I'll be running extra far and working out a lot longer at the gym to work off that great Hawaiian pizza. [attachmentid=22854] [attachmentid=22855] Some meeting notes: we got Vern out of the house! That in and of itself is a wonderful accomplishment. Rejection showed us some of the rigging for the Sentinel and Don showed us how to use a tablet PC. The one great thing about having our animation master meetings is that they are fuel for creativity. Getting together with a bunch of guys who like to do the same 3-D hobbyist work really is inspiring and really gets me back into the mood for animating and creating. I think it helps out all of us and I recommend to any animation master users that haven't found a local animation master group to go out there and try to find one in your area. Meet some new people, make some new friends, work on some projects together, eat pizza, cheese steaks and drink plenty of coffee and soda! It's good stuff. Thanks everyone for coming out!
  3. Here is a somewhat high resolution animation. This is a test render of the walk cycle animation. Please note, this is a 90 meg Quicktime video that requires Quicktime 7 to play. Its encoded in H264. This is the output size we are shooting for. Rich and I figure that if we are going to render it out, it ought to be high resolution. Sorry for the large size but we want people to see the good quality. Click on the image below to begin downloading the video. 90 meg You can also do , Right Click, SAVE AS, to save it to your hard drive for viewing.
  4. Hi All, Thanks for the great responses... Right now i am ashamed of the web site. I haven't put much time in to it since i am trying to finish up some client web sites before Christmas. That darn holiday $$$ requirement... Darn, but with some luck ill be upgrading the site in the next few weeks. I will keep everyone posted. Rich will be helping on the site as well!
  5. I just wanted to say that I'm glad Rich Jackson posted some of our initial Dark Skull Production work. It's been almost a year since we began collaborating on the project and we have come a long way. I just wanted to put up a little post thanking all of the people at Hash Inc. for making such a great program that has allowed creative individuals like Rich and myself to find each other and bring our science-fiction dreams to reality. The Mid Atlantic Animation Master User Group (MAAM) has been a key factor in us getting together and finding out that we have similar interests and hobbies. Don Davis was the initial organizer of the Mid Atlantic Animation Master User Group and without his help and pulling us all together Dark Skull Production would not have been formed. So a little shout out to Don for getting us all together and also Hash Inc. for making a great rendering program that us mere mortals can afford. I'll be posting some of the work I've done on the sets and props this weekend. Thanks again rich for posting our initial Dark Skull Production information on the Hash form.
  6. Hi Guys, It's definitely not too late for the Saturday meeting. For anyone that won't be able to attend this Saturdays meeting, I am sure we will try to have a meeting sometime in January or February. We all need to get together during the cold winter to make sure our creative talent doesn't freeze! It also doesn't hurt to have a little bit of spicy chili! :-) Here is a Google map link to my address. 548 Cork Cir, West Chester, PA 19380 If anyone needs to give me a call for directions you can call me on my cell phone at 610-574-5937. I'd be happy to guide anyone in. I'm thinking any time after 11 a.m. would work just fine. If anybody wants to show up earlier than that you're more than welcome just give me a call so I know you're on your way. I think it will be fun to see what everybody has been working on and to go over new ideas for 2007. Maybe we can also try to do a little bit of planning for the 2007 siggraph as well. If anybody has any other directions, please feel free to e-mail me at: john@hubickey.com Talk to you all soon, Hubukai
  7. Don, Awesome! A little AM MAAM Holiday gethering will be wonderful... Vern? Zach? Anyone New? Your all welcome to join the MAAM Meeting... ill post directions this weekend.
  8. Hello Philadelphia and New Jersey animation master users. It has been a while since the mid Atlantic animation master user group has gotten together and with the holiday season coming up I thought it would be a great time to post a request for a MAAM meeting. I would like to offer my home in West Chester Pennsylvania for the next meeting place. I have a date in December of Saturday, December 2 that the House can be used for a MAAM meeting. Please let me know if there is any interest in this so I can get a little more information out there and if we decide that the state is good for an animation master meeting I will post directions and other information. Hope to hear from everyone interested soon. The holidays are coming up and it's a good time for all of us to get together to prepare for all the wonderful things we do with animation master in 2007. Hope to hear from all of you soon. Hubukai
  9. Don, Great Chile! Rich, You're Brilliant Vern, Skinny Sorry I had to leave early. I missed Verns good stuff! Cant wait for the next meeting. No interruptions for me! Good seeing you all again... Don, photos?
  10. I think Siggraph next year will be a definate. i am already planning on blocking out that time. dons on the 19th will be FUN!
  11. Here is a list of links that I have used as reference. The TARDIS Library - http://homepages.paradise.net.nz/~trekker/...boxes/home.html TARDIS PDF i went by: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/richard.bradley3/brachaki.pdf Origional Site here: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/richard.bradley3/ Ill be working on cleaning up the TARDIS this week. ( or more like dirtying it up ) to give it that more authentic look. I am not a material expert, so Ill be contacting the great Animation Master designer, Mr. Rich Jackson for assistance on materiling the TARDIS. Thanks for all your feedback. I will continue to add here after the materials are added to the TARDIS.
  12. I think you are right about the hard edges that should be a pretty simple fix. It would be nice if AM had a fillet command. The inside of the TARDIS be phase 3 for me and it will probably be the most current TARDIS inside. That will give me a lot of reference since I now have the DVD's for season 1. Phase 2 (I will be working on next) is going to be one of the companions, the simplest companion. The one thing I was trying to figure out is how to give the illusion of the TARDIS being bigger on the inside than the outside. It seems to me that the best way to do it would be to do it with green screen. A green screen inside the door and a green dome around the TARDIS interior minus the door. I have never seen a good representation of how it actually would work. So this would be a good project for me if I could pull it off. If anyone has any ideas, please post them here.
  13. Being a huge Doctor Who Fan I thought I would need my own TARDIS. I have been watching the latest series and just got back in to how cool Doctor Who was. This TARDIS is to scale based on plans I found on the internet somewhere. Some guys actually build real versions. The doors open and close and as soon as I finish up a couple of clean ups on the model, I will post it up here fo anyone that wants to use it. Image: You can download a larger version of the rendering below.
  14. Wow, impressive,, great to see what can be on with AM!

  20. Have you considered using skylights to light final renderings? you would get very nice results. http://www.shipbrook.com/jeff/animas/skyli...structions.html
  21. I believe i will be on Vacation in Keywest on the 20th. :-) here are the dates i am NOT avaiable...( hopefully this will help ) Saturday April 29 Saturday May 20th Saturday June 10th i think i am opened for any other weekends. Sorry to be a pain. I do want to be there for sure. Mmmmmm Chillyyyyyyyy..... I probibly wont bring my computer, i think dons lap top is plenty powerful enough to "Show" work. i can bring some kind of laptop though.
  22. It has been a few months since the MAAM Meeting and I keep thinking about the good time had by all. Well, the fire in my AM furnace did not die that day. It basically got a bunch of Gasoline thrown on it. What the heck am I talking about? I can’t tell you just yet, It’s super Secret! Super Top Secret Even! I may get in trouble for even posting the idea that something in the Hubukai realm of animation Master work is afoot but its late, I’m tired and i have only increased my AM output since the meeting. If anyone actually reads this post, then they will have to wait for the big unveiling. "He was our last hope. No, There is another!" Yes, the Imperial Alliance has been created! Im thinking a meeting before the Comic book show would be appropiate if anyone is interested in working with me on setting a date for the next MAAM Meeting.
  23. Zack, I dont know if you realize, but the new MacMinis came out today! 1.66 DUO (dual core ) for 799$ im ordering one tonight for sure! The lighting looks good. i am going to mess with it. I wonder how long it will take to get AM - Intel Mac Duo support?
  24. Here is my best guess on how to pronounce my last name... John Hugh – Bick – E Wow, I understand you might not be able to get it into a script which is fine. I am glad my mac is set to just add your podcast automatically! Now i have to ask... it looks like the Olympic vodcast was done with the new lighting in R13? Yes? No? Im just guessing. Nice work!
  25. WoW, I just realized that Zack has immortalized Don Davis and Rich Jackson in his latest Olympic vodcast! Good for you! Man it was funny! I’ve watched it a couple time already! Something for me to look forward to each week!
