There is quite a big difference between comics posing and CG character posing... Thing is, comics character is heavily stylized to begin with...
Second thing: Spider-Man is THE FLEXIBLE comics charater. So, whatever rig you use it must be mucho flexible and able to make any pose imaginable...
Another bit of critique: Spider-Man is way too much centared, and light part of the backgound is to left, which somehow messes the emphasis of the composition, so it feels too heavy... just my feeling...
Other than this: Lovely model, amazingly textured!

Thanks for the update, David!
After watching your Squetch rig instalation videos, I got myself worried about all those 'recompensationg' of the bones... Although I have totaly skipped that procedure, everything seems to work fine or at least good enough...
However, it got me thinking: I am by no means programmer, but I think that programming litle plugin that would remember Constraint enforcement, 'press' compensate button and then return original value of the enforcement would be a piece of cake...
It would save literally hours of work... I guess that any able programmer could write that plugin in less time that it takes to 'recompensate' only one model.
Just my two cents...

case, things that you have made look cool so far, but there is quite a lot of things about them that shout 'imported to A:M'... They will be darn hard to animate when time comes to that, and you will get a bunch of ugly artefacts when rendering...
Maybe you should try to get to base one and remodel them in A:M from scratch: modeling them in A:M is actually much faster then modeling them elsewhere, importing and then trying to iron out all of the artefacts...
just my two cents...

This looks great: characters, light, water.... keeps us posted!

Bump!
I just saw it and liked it! I cannot point exactly but it felt a bit 'overacted' - not enough anticipation in places and way too much anticipation elsewhere... overall, cool exercise! Keep us posted!

There are some cool tutorials at the ARM (A:M resource matrix), http://www.lowrestv.com/arm/ although they might be slightly out of date... If I remember correctly there was Death star blast effect tut, lightsaber tut...

Looks great so far. I would agree with robcat about the posture, however this looks pretty good as it is! Keep us posted!

Simple, yet elegant modeling!
I think that textures are just a little bit too pronounced...
I just feel that her facial expression is a bit sad...

Looks cool so far! Let's see what is next!

Looks great, especially having in mind that the model is not textured yet!
Let's see the rest of it!

This is one cool reel...
I have to say that ant part of the demo looks a bit too unpolished compared to the rest of it...
Cloth simulation part: cape and groincloth are of the same colour and when I wached it for the first time I was certain that capes passed through poor Thom ;P
Other than that, fantastic! Your creatures are very frightening and have air of reality about them.

I seem to repeat myself, but thanks David!
Your videos are as much informative as your rig is cool and useful!
