  1. Fabrice, you knocked me off my feet! This looks amazing!

(it also sets pretty high standard for the look'n feel of the rest of tha movie)

did I say GREAT? If not, here it goes: GREAT!

  2. Squetch rig is the way to go!!!

Whole setup for my character took somewhere around 2.5 hrs (including linking geometry to bones) and it is absolute no brainer (look for squetch rig topic at rigging part of this forum).

You get squetching ability for the model (way too cool), really superior animation rig and no one can beat the price (its free)

(Also, Martin took it as THE RIG for TWO movie)

Thanks again to David Simmons who made it!

btw: great lookin' gal! She'll squetch nicely ;-D

  3. There is amazing one on A:M Extra CD which can be downloaded from the Hash site (free models)...(you'll have to check out about copyright and use issues, though, it was submitted as hash contest entry, I cannot recal authors name at the moment)

  4. After some hundred viewings (several times a day, 2 - 3 times in a row ;-D) I have to say that I am still amazed! Nice pacing, lot of action, cool special effects... only remark, there is one residue of the storyboard which lasts part of the second...

What about the distribution? A:M films is a cool place, but this baby needs to be seen... EVERYWHERE!

  5. I would wholeheartiedly recommend video tutorials on rigging the face with bones made by itsjustme (David Simmons)... (they are somewhere in the tutorials section).

They do contain some basic explanations and then jump to the hard stuff... steep learning curve, but they contain some info which is not available enywhere else...

Together with the AOM, they should get you going in the right direction.

I would also highly recommend squetch rig (it was just made for the type of characters that you make - also by itsjustme - it comes with great instalation tutorial and plugin that would take much of the work to itself)

uh... it is located in the rigging section!

I think that this is all you need!

  6. It took me a while to texture the hands the way I wanted, but I am glad with the result…

For the last few days I was playing with the idea of making this little guy move, and today I had some time… voila, here he is in all his (moving) glory.

I installed the squetch rig, and it turned out much easier than anticipated… Install plugin made it much faster than before when I moved million bones by hand.

I said this elsewhere, but I’ll repeat it here: much thanks to David Simmons who made (and perfected) the Squetch rig and to Martin Hash that had the vision to make it official TWO rig (did I mentioned that he also makes some cool software ? ;-D)

I’ll try to iron out some creases that form when moving, weight the CP’s where necessary and then we’ll see what will come out of this guy…

Of course, I have a lot of texturing left (hair, clothes) and I’ll try to install Stephen Cleary’s Face gizmo…
