  1. Am I doing somenthing wrong?

While waiting for Mark's take on rig installing rig ;o), I've wanted to make a try to see how the face interface would work (I have installed squetch rig in three characters so far, but none with face interface - I have used custom face rig and Steven Cleary's face gizmo).

So I just took empty rig, ran install plugin and I have face geometry bones unhided... and tried to play with the face interface... Face bones do not move!

I think that I am doing things right, at least I don't remember (from the installation tutorial movies) that there was some special action that was supossed to be done to activate them.

Is there something that I've overlooked?

(I hope that my too - long sentences are understandible)

  2. GREAT THREAD!

    I loved explanations about reflectivity!

I love everything about Silver sulfer (one of my favourite superheroes)

little remark: his pose could benefit from simpler line of movement (you kow: lilne that describes positions of the body and limbs) it would make better statement and illusion of speed...

  3. Thanks Satyajit. Not only that you are doing really good (I am not that experienced animator to give you critiques) but I cen say that I love it, but you also show what an animator can do when actually working on his animation. You are advancing at great pace. Keep up the good work!

  4. I seem to have missed this cool project:

Easiest way to make this project is:

    1. use one cross section as the separate model (put bone in the middle of the caroussel facing upwards or downwards)...

    2. Import as many cross sections (models as necessary)

    3. Rotate the bone by the exact ammount (under properties, z rotate (I think, from the top of my mind))

    4. When everything fits into place, export choreography as model (don't forget to erase the lights, the camera and the ground plane)

    5. That's it

Alternative: save choreography and then import it where needed (that way you will not have one extra complicated uber model, but several smaller which can be organized into their separate folder)

    Hope that this helps!

    keep us posted!

  5. This is model of Mikke Musse ;).

I have posted older version of it once upon a time, but Rodney reminded me that I should repost it, which I have (thanks Rodney)

I was going for the 30's look of the character, so have in mind that they used to draw him with dimes in that time, so Mikke didn't Squashed and Stretched much...

It is rigged with older version of the Squetch rig, so it doesn't have all the bells and whistles (No hand gizmo, no face rig), but it squetches well.

I have made improvised version of the face rig with controls that I felt were necessary for this simple character, and they can be pretty expressive;)

Many thanks to Hash, David Simmons and others that gave me the knowledge, amazing software and this way too cool rig!

    Enjoy,

p.s. The material groups are in named in Macedonian, but I think that they are easily manageable
