i would like it to all be my work, but i may take the battle droid from the free models site and texture and rig it... otherwise, they don't have much i'll need
-
-
Here ya go. When Nerazzi gave him to me, he wasn't rigged at all, but I think I did a pretty nice job of rigging it.
-
wow how'd you get that cool underwater look to it? was that surface done in PS?
-
Here's a gun I made for the great Clone Trooper model Nerazzi donated to my fanfilm, Clone Commander.
-
i think it looks grt! i love your characters by the way... very unique and cool design. the expressions are grt

grt model! I wish I could get that much detail in my heads but it never comes out like i want it. congrats!

How to arrange the texture map?

nice texturing! -
definitely 3 for me

Ahhh, I see what you mean. Good eyes. I think I'll fix that after redoing the cockpit and rounding the wing sides. (I'm using The NEW Essential Guide to VEHICLES AND VESSELS for all my modeling, by the way)
-
OK, here's the second attempt. I think it looks much better (thanks for the tips by the way). I might still have to round the wings a little and redo the cockpit, but is there anything else I should take note of?
-
Ok, I've almost finished modeling and texturing my second attempt on the body. I made smoother curves, indented the front gun holders, and redid the texture for the side.
-
Here's a wireframe. It's just this side copied over and connected. I'm going to try redoing it and make a side a little smaller, then connecting them to make smooth curves. I think I've figured this out...
-
is there some way to just take edges and round them out a little that i don't know about? i think i can do a good indentation for the guns though...
-
yes that would help, but i have no idea how to make a model with sides like that and an indentation like that, and how would i incorporate it with the body? i have an idea that might work, we'll see...
-
lol maybe i should make a knife! i can't get curves ont he edges b/c of the starnge shape of the body... Any tips? Mayeb after I show you the wireframe. I'll put it up soon. Also, on ther inset, same problem. I'm not too advanced with splinemanship so i need some help. Also, I realized those problems for I too am an obsessive Star Wars freak! lol

Here's front and side... How do you take a screenshot in Animation:Master and then get it? (for wireframe) fsgunship.bmp
-
I put small detail into it but then took it out because I'll mostly be using it for background filler. It will be far enough away so the texturing matters but the detail won't matter as much. The only thing I don't like is the front. If you look at the actual model LucasArts made, the front is curved inward towards the top. I couldn't curve it because of the shape of the body. Otherwise, I'm pretty pleased.
