v190j.1 Windows 7 Followed the manual to the word for setting up sprite emitters for fire, smoke etc. but can't get any color in the sprites in spite of setting up the rgb channels in Action as instructed. Can't find the "moron" mode switch. Been over the instructions a dozen times. (the one in the manual re fire, smoke and sparks) What am I missing? (I'm sure its something embarrassingly obvious. Any help appreciated greatly.

Apparently someone broke into my studio and turned down the light intensity to "2" and ran away laughing, knowing it would take me days to figure out what happened!

WAIT Nevermind, just forgot to turn off "MORON" mode. Working now.

Shadow options turned on for ALL objects, camera and lights but no shadows rendering from the camera in the chor. Any help appreciated.

THAT'S IT!!! So simple. Seems to me there was a setting in the options for that but cannot find it now, is it still there (or anywhere)?? Anyways thanks again robcat.

Windows 7, AM v19.oi Nvidia grafx card Shaded view once used to show decals but now they don't show up. Nothing updated, nothing changed. Had tried to update Nvidia driver but could find NO button or function in the Nvidia control panel to do so, So Nothing has changed yet - no decals without doing a render. any help appreciated

Is there any way to do this with AM? Where the eyes can be rotated, lids blink etc. and still be stretched in the Y axis?

BINGO! wasn't the drivers but had to reconfig the sound system to use the old stereo instead of the surround that WAS working but isn't now for some reason. So IT WORKS NOW!!! and thank you guys for all your help - very much appreciated!

Ok, brought sound into AM opened up the mixer-AM shows up-turn volume to 100% - still no sound yet sound plays ok in media player.

Do the sound files play for you on your AM?

Tried almost all of the sound files. They work fine in the windows media player but none will play in AM.

Right click double click anywhere in AM no sound. Right clicking brings up the PLAY button - no sound. Double click from Windows desktop and they all play immediately with windows media player.

Have tried installing v18 - no sound yet sound plays fine everywhere else in the Windows world EXCEPT AM. Haven't got a clue what to do so any help would be appreciated, heck I'll do some professional art or design for anyone who solves this for me! (serious)

Update on sound- still no sound in spite of installing v18. System sound still working fine everywhere else.

Robcat you had noticed that environment maps were only using the top half of the image (when you helped me with env. maps a while back)
Was there any resolution to that problem? Now I'm running into it.

Unfortunately, it's not an "assigned" problem yet.

You can install v18 and use that for now.
after you install it, copy your master0.lic file from v19 to v18
Also try your sound problem on that.

Windows 7, AM v.19Oi. System sound working fine. Import sound "cartoonhammer" from AM disc, dragged onto action, dragged onto chor but no sound plays. System sound is working. Right clicking on sound file and Play but no sound. What am I doing wrong???

Found the TransparencyAction.prj - says its unavailable.

I know it's there, i just re-downloaded it.
I've sent a PM to Jason to ask if there is anything weird about your accounts permissions. Something must be mis set to keep you from replying or down loading attachments.

Stop the presses! Now the transp. in Action works.
v.Oi Action now shows the transp. channels listed with the bone channels in the tree and it's working! Whereas before only the animated bone channels were listed. (even after turning "list all" icon on.)
Thanks again robcat, if it weren't for you guys still there I'd have been forced to give up on A.M. a long time ago.

Many thanks. So you just assigned surface properties instead of making a material assigned to a group. OK but you had the same result. So I'm NOT hallucinating again (tho oft times I miss them).
Let me know if there is any update in the future on this please. At eas602@sbcglobal.net and thanks so much for your time helping me on this. Till then I guess I'll just keep the Action window open.

Robcat. installed v.Oi as suggested. No difference. Created animated transp. channels in Action for the Group. Closed Action. Reopened same action - no channels. (made sure groups are listed in the tree)
Double checked to see that I'm running v.Oi - yes.
Would like to send the Action file but it won't save the channels.
What am I doing wrong????
