  1. When a light’s shadow option is set to ray trace, “render as lines” splines do not cast any shadow. Is this an error (that should be reported) or is it a (missing) functionality?
  2. Thanks for the reply, Robert! Now I remember to have seen that Texel-explanation once before. And now as then I don't understand a word of it - even after having looked up Texel in Wikipedia. And here I beleived I was good at math :-/ Do you now if there is a predictable setting to get, say a 2048x2048 texture as a result of a bake?
  3. I’m sitting here wondering about two things that has absoluttely nothing to do with each other… 1. When baking an object in A:M, what is the connection between the figure “Resolution” and the size of the resulting bitmaps. It seems completely arbitrary to me?? 2. Did the option to turn off the splash screen make it into v.18? And if so, where is it? Anybody?
  4. Aaahh! Wonderfull solutions!! Just what I needed! Haven't touched on A:M expressions beforel, so great to get an intro to that! Thx a lot :-)
  5. I wonder if it is possible in some way to add a slight (or not so slight) automatic random jitter to an object? This could be to a camera (to make it look handheld), to a character (ie to make it look like it is freezing), or to a light (to make it look like a faulty flickering lightbulb)?
  6. Fantastic how you pinpoint the problems and finds a solution right on the spot, Rob! Thanks! Unfortunately the breaking/assembling of the splines does mess up the uvs of the model, so I guess the best solution for me is to just keep modeling, uv’ing and texture painting within Animation Master and 3D Painter. The lesson is: splines doesn’t mix well with the outside world! And as you mention, Ken, with A:M’s rather exotic approach to uv mapping, the steps involved in moving back and forth between different apps, becomes to unfluent for my way of working and my temperament…unfortunately. One can just hope that some day someone at Pilgway or Pixologic will write an importer/exporter for A:M.
  7. This model was sculpted and retopoed in 3DCoat and then exported as an .obj. Then imported into A:M. In the last step several faces across the object disappeared. First I thought "flipped normals", but this does not seem to be the case. I have looked at the object in both Blender and Messiah Studio, and here everything seems okay. Anybody have an idea on whats going on? And off course how to repair, without destroying the underlying UVs of the object?
  8. I agree! Your "paper animated characters" are wonderfull! Especially fond of Mr. Micestro!! Alexander Calder did some sculptures using the same technique - not animated though! :-) If you haven't already, you propably would enjoy his Circus Calder: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iG6cP2VA0Bg
  9. That's really great! Excellent elephant! But I missed Captain Crazy Pants out on the hike, though...:-)
  10. That's not a guy! And she has used at least two tubes of Freeman's Feeling Beautiful Skin Silkening Facial Peel-Off Mask with Cucumber!!
  11. Latest news: Trapez has changed name to Trapeze, to indicate that it has been remixed with english narration, and the subtitles has thus been removed. The voice artist is the very talented Benjamin Patton, who catches the feel of Kafka’s story excellently. Take a look/listen here: https://vimeo.com/24131512
