Thanks, I've finished the fan model and it looks pretty good. Here's a turntable of it. I might add some bump maps for more detail and also change the shape of the blades a bit. turntable.mov

Hello Everyone, I've been working on a model of a small boy as you can see Here And I came up with a little story to put with him. I hope you like it. Crits are very welcome. Sequence 1 A middle aged man, slightly balding incessantly snores in his lazy boy recliner. In the corner a TV flashes illuminating the entire room. Then from behind the dad, a young sly boy cracks open the door just enough to show his face. A smirk appears on the boy's face when he sees that his dad is fast asleep. The boy slowly creeps along then pauses at his dad's recliner. He hesitantly taps his dad on the shoulder, and to his surprise the man makes an abrupt snore causing the boy to jump back in fear. Despite the loud snore his dad does not awake. The boy makes a quick pivot and continues towards the television. When he reaches the television he puts his hand on his hips like he had just accomplished a great feat. Before tending to the television the boy looks over his shoulder to check that his dad is still asleep. Sequence 2 The Boy slowly goes to his knees to change the channel from the blaring football to a nice cartoon. When he changes the channel the television starts screaming the "Spongebob Squarepants" theme song. Very startled, the boy is blown back but quickly jumps foreword to turn the television off. Underneath the television the boy sees the volume knob and tries to turn it down. To the boys disappointment as soon as he begins to turn the knob pops right off. To his right he notices and old wooden knob belonging to an old piece of furniture. The boy examines the knob and decides that it might fit the volume control. He tries several times to put the knob on. The third time he almost knocked the whole television set right over but is able to make it stay. Seconds after the boys glory the knobs comically pops right off again. Sequence 3 After much thought the boy thinks he is finally ready to watch some cartoons. In about five minutes he has duct taped two large pillows to his dad's head covering his ears. Even though the boy must have made a lot of rustling doing this his dad remained asleep. Finally the boy is able to sit down and enjoy some early morning cartoons.

Small Update... I've tried TSM2 and The old 2001 rig both went down hill. So I've been making a rig of my own probably not a good idea but thats what I'll have to settle with for now. Still working on the face every now and then and I can't seem to get ride of the creases around the tip of nose. Anyone have any suggestions? I'll attach the model file so you can take a closer look. Thanks! kid.mdl

I feel your frustration but... I don't think any software company will give any type of support in software that is 7 or 8 years old. Do what rodney says and buy the web subscription its a lot cheaper and doesn't require a cd.

Well I've finished the kid model. Might need a few improvements but for now its good enough and I've done a quick AO render. There seems to be a small artifact on his face and I've checked normals and everything can't figure out whats causing it. Next Step is Rigging Which do you recommend squetch or the new updated 2001 rig. Remember I'm a bit of a newbie especially with rigging.

Super Cool Model Eric. It will look amazing textured.

Cool character design... sorta reminds me of Mr Incredible. I can't wait to see him rigged and weighted.
-
Eric, I got the coloring down but what about bump maps how do i do that??
-
This looks amazing. Great modeling. A walk-through of the house when your done would be so cool.

My brother and I have started to get tired of starting projects and not finishing them soo, we've decided to do something that is as simple as possible (asap ahaha). We got the idea from super mario brothers and also the other mario movie weve seen in progress on the forum except the main characters are the goombas. Hopefully this will be a learning experience with some effects and basic animating and modeling. First clip is a 360 of the goomba and the second is a cannon effect i've been working on. if you wanted to just change the color of it all you have to do is open the choreography and hit the property triangle on the ground model or open the properties toobar then go to the surface properties and change the diffuse color. hope this is what you ment. -adam
