Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted April 29, 2023 Hash Fellow Posted April 29, 2023 WaPo report on CES Safety advocates see red flags galore with new tech at CES show Quote ...They included some of this year’s breakout favorites, such as the U-Scan urine sensor from connected health care company Withings, which analyzes hormone levels in urine Quote ...Companies could choose to make useful, private, repairable products, said iFixit’s Wiens during the Worst in Show announcement, but what is the real purpose of a $200 travel mug with location-sharing capabilities and an irreplaceable battery? I'm reminded of the USB-powered bong Martin showed me that he got at Siggraph Also, the Wired report: CES 2023: 100+ Highlights and Oddities From the Show Quote Arguably one of the weirder things I saw at CES is Rollkers—a gadget you strap to your feet to double your walking speed. No, they don't look weird at all... Quote
*A:M User* Roger Posted April 30, 2023 *A:M User* Posted April 30, 2023 The Rollkers just look freakin' horrible. Why not just rollerskate to work? Would look less stupid and probably be cheaper, too. Quote
Fuchur Posted May 3, 2023 Posted May 3, 2023 It is a little different, since you can use them as they are (inliner / rollerskates are hard to get off in that regard or go into a bus or something like that) but I think I would always think, I am just slipping at the moment and fall down. I like everything with feels on my feet in general, but I am pretty skeptical of those "Rollkers" too. Best regards *Fuchur* Quote
