Not sure if Gravity Sketch VR is a patch modeler, nurbs or sub d. Seems they have an exporter for obj but not much more.

Early access item on Steam and looks pretty cool. Kind of like standing and waving your arms around to make something rather than relaxing in a cushy office chair with a mouse an space mouse hehe.

It is VR... you can see it here in the banner video:

https://www.gravitysketch.com/vr/

They use controllers and draw in mid-air like they show on the website.

I'd say it is not a spline modeller... maybe NURBs but I don't know exactly.

Maybe I will give it a try with my Dell Visor (MXR Headset, more about it can be found here.), but in general those just keep you far far away from the technical aspects like polygones/NURBS/Splines/Patches, etc.

I think that is often only possible with Polygones / ControlCages..

It is more drawing stuff in the air... it makes it very simple to start with but often less useable if you are getting deeper into it.

I suppose the drawback of all VR things (for design purposes) is that it is difficult to be accurate when you are waving your hands freely in the air.

Have a look at their website... the whole first page is showing the virtual representation examples... there is a controler (the virtual representation of the controller in your hand) and someone moves it around.

I think he talks about the nurbs-like-surface-"wave" they do there at the last part of the video at "Powerful Design Tools".

Best regards

I do like the extrude edge they have.

I'm not sure what you mean by that. Is there a picture of theirs?

Whoops. I mistakenly edited Pixelplucker's post instead of replying and I mangled what he said.

Ken can you post your comment again, if you can recall it?

Sorry!
