detbear
This is probably an extremely ignorant question.....But here goes. I have an old laptop that I would like to install A:M 18 onto. it's way old and 32bit. Does our subscription allow for installation on a laptop by any chance? AND........does that require an internet connection? I don't think my old laptop even has the ability to go on the web. It might if i put a bunch of work into it. But i doubt i will. But it seems to work well...
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted April 16, 2015 Hash Fellow Share Posted April 16, 2015 I believe Windows XP is the minimum OS for A:M now so check that first. It' s possible to buy and install a license for a PC (even a laptop) that doesn't have an internet connection but it's some sort of weird email exchange that has to happen. But check the OS on your laptop first. If it doesn't do the internet... it sounds really ancient.
Jason Simonds
We still run on XP but Older embedded cards have problems now. I do not know how much longer we will run on XP tho. This is how you install it offline. https://www.hash.com/faq/index.php?action=artikel&cat=13&id=17&artlang=en You would need to download the file and move it on a flash drive to the machine you want to use. If you do that steps and send support@hash.com the "your_hostid.txt" file I can let you try the software on that laptop to see if it works. detbear
Thanks guys, That helps me. I will see if I can get it to run. I'm finding that I want to work on some things back home. But I don't have a newer version on that old system. I confess that I'm spoiled to some of the new features added to A:M in versions 17 and higher.
