Ilidrake Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 What are the chances AM could be reworked for the RT system? I'd be willing to pay up to 500 for it. Quote
Admin Rodney Posted February 11, 2014 Admin Posted February 11, 2014 Hi Lloyd, It's good to see you! I'm confident A:M can already run on Windows RT with the right work done on the RT system. (Reference) Older versions of A:M that use D3D won't work because RT wont support those. But just because one can do something doesn't mean they should. I'll give you three reasons (Edit: I just thought of a 4th)why support for (a fully featured) A:M on RT systems in the short term isn't realistic, if you are interested. Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted February 11, 2014 Hash Fellow Posted February 11, 2014 That's interesting that someone got Windows programs to run on RT. I didn't think it would work at all. they do note Don’t expect anything that uses complicated graphics commands, like DirectX11 or D3D to work. so maybe it doesn't even do OpenGL either? I'm doubtful that even a fully ported A:M on RT would be satisfactory. True Windows tablets are getting cheaper and better at battery life, I bet RT is going to disappear eventually. Quote
Ilidrake Posted February 28, 2014 Author Posted February 28, 2014 Yep. RT is pretty dead. Got an Asus tablet. AM works great on it. Quote

Ilidrake Posted March 1, 2014 Author Posted March 1, 2014 Its the Asus T100. Really nice machine. Not ultra powerful but runs AM and PhotoShop just great. Good battery life and I love the portability it provides. It runs windows 8 has a nice detachable keyboard. One USB 3.0, mini-hdmi port and port for sd card. And at only 299 not a bad deal. Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted March 1, 2014 Hash Fellow Posted March 1, 2014 Does that have a touch screen? Does that work with A:M at all? Quote
Ilidrake Posted March 1, 2014 Author Posted March 1, 2014 Yes it is touch screen. Works very well with AM but I'm still using my mouse. The only complaint I have is the keyboard doesn't have a numpad, which I use a lot. But beyond that I'm really pleased with it. Quote
Ilidrake Posted March 1, 2014 Author Posted March 1, 2014 normally customize my toolbars so it waseasy to add the viewports as well. Thanks Robcat!!! Quote
