Bins

I was looking into some stop frame animation software this afternoon and this was on the site of one of them, I Stop Frame ( I think ? ). It is a project made by a 13 year old, one day, in the passage at the side of his house, using the bins and some pedal bins from inside the house. He did the voices too with his younger sisters adding theirs.

I thought it was fun

That's great!

I'm big time jealous of what the kids today have at their disposal. What would have taken a lot of guess work and involved expensive cameras, film & processing, they can do with their phone.

I may have to introduce my nephews to this and let them make a film over this summer. They'd have a blast bringing their action figures to life.

I did a search for stop frame animation program's. Aside from the ones I was looking for there appear to be several free, open source, options. Most appear to work using web cams. My most recent web cam buy on ebay was about $5.

At the other end of the scale. Have a look for "gulp" ( the worlds largest stop frame animation ) on youtube. It was made by Aardman using three Samsung mobile phones, on a beach in north Wales.
