markw
Thought this might be of interest to others here. Although this series is aimed more at comic illustrations and artists, tangents are just as important for animators too when setting up shots. http://tapastic.com/series/
Admin Rodney Posted June 4, 2013 Admin Share Posted June 4, 2013 Thanks for that. That last one is a very direct (and brief!) approach to dealing with inevitable tangents in imagery. One of the most concise I've seen. Another thing the 'masking' of outlining accomplishes is that it effectively creates a middle ground between a background and foreground which helps to establish depth in an image. Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted June 5, 2013 Hash Fellow Share Posted June 5, 2013 That's a good lecture with more information and examples than the talk we got when I was at AnimationMentor. I wasn't familiar with "implied tangents" before. I would recommend everyone who creates graphics or poses characters, 2D or 3D to read that, since it is so brief.
