Just a Wooden Sword

Hi all,

for the sake of render time, because of applied texture, i split this clip into three parts, rendering each segment separately, as a layer, then assembling them at the end.

Here the Elves and two mice, William and Onton are running across the room to help Mac Flin.

And again Thanks for watching :)

I'm surprised the texture is a time problem in toon rendering. Maybe there's an unnecessary light situation?

Oh well. looks like you got the scene together!

Do you know what is causing the flickering on the witches face in the first shot?

i used the plugin darksim on the walls of the witch's house and floor, it seems to take a lot longer then if i were to use a bitmap or a decal, and depending on how large the models was, and the lighting,

i thought the flicking light on the witch face was coming from her movement. but i'll recheck the lights. see if i can stop that.

thanks for pointing that out robcat2075 :)

That would do it.

If you have another situation like that in the future, I'll note that it is possible to Bake a Material on a model to convert it to decal, That would likely speed things up.

"the light looks like a reflection from a well shes over or something I think it adds to it"

Inside the witch's house she has captive fairies, held in glass jars and candles, that give lighting to the room, so I could say that's why the flickering light, but it was not my intent :D accidents Thanks Steve

"I would bet Pixar and the lot composite all of their shots,"

I think your right Mark, there seems to be a lot more lead way, no background things to work around, I just started shooting some scenes this way, as I look back through the movie I see so many places where it would have come out better. Thanks largento

Kat,

I think it's great that you are embracing compositing in your workflow. That will be tremendously useful in the long run.

Is there someplace we can find more imagery and scenes from earlier in your production?

In going back through your topic I see that most of the movies and images you posted are missing.

I hope the missing files aren't something I did on my end.

If nothing else from time to time I use what imagery I can find to update your banner. :)

Nothing you did, :) Quite a while ago i thought maybe i had to many file on the web site, so i thought to clean it up, but all it did was remove the movie files.

i was thinking of adding back some of them, i don't think i can edit the older post, so i'll just add them as new old post.

a little knowledge is dangerous :D Thanks Rodney

You should be able to edit all of your posts but posting a new collection in a new post should work too.

Jason has indicated that storage isn't an issue and IMO this goes double/triple for the special topics.

There is a reason they are special topics after all. :)

Thank you Rodney,I have added back some of the missing clips in the older posts, they may be a bit different but close, I'll continue to add more as time allows. :)
