Ilidrake Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 I have my Cleopatra model ready for textures. Only I suck at clothing textures. I have a reference of how I want her to look but my skills with photoshop are passive at best. If someone could help me out I would really appreciate it. Unfortunatly this isn't a paying gig and the best I can do is put your name in the credits. If your interested in helping drop me a line here and I'll send you the model file with the reference pics. Thanks Quote
Ilidrake Posted April 25, 2013 Author Posted April 25, 2013 So if I offered cash would that interest people for the task? Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted April 25, 2013 Hash Fellow Posted April 25, 2013 You might like doing it yourself. Try a little bit, post it, and maybe a texture guru will comment. Quote
Ilidrake Posted April 25, 2013 Author Posted April 25, 2013 What about AM Paint? Would it be a wise choice? Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted April 25, 2013 Hash Fellow Posted April 25, 2013 Do you have Photoshop? And what sort of textures are you trying to do? Quote
Ilidrake Posted April 25, 2013 Author Posted April 25, 2013 I do have photoshop. Version CS5. The texture is quite detailed. I have the UVs created and imported into photoshop. I'm thinking it will simply be one of those things I do in time. Usually if something doesn't look the way I want I simply set it aside and try it later. And I am waiting on my new Wacom tablet to arrive so that should be a big help. Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted April 25, 2013 Hash Fellow Posted April 25, 2013 I think Photoshop will serve you well and you might give it a try. Start small, like on a button. 3D painting sounds like a great idea but it has its own complications. Quote
largento Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Have you watched Will Sutton's UV video tutorial? He has it in a bunch of parts on YouTube. I bought the CD back in the day and it was a great resource for me. Here's part one: AXfP9jpMmlE Quote
Ilidrake Posted April 26, 2013 Author Posted April 26, 2013 Good stuff. I already know how to do UV maps and layouts for them. My actual painting in photoshop is lacking. I really don't do it enough so I guess this will be good practice. Quote
zandoriastudios Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 In Photoshop, you can lasso areas from a photo reference and drag them into your document. then you scale, rotate and distort them into place, building up your color map. Keep your wireframes on a separate layer (set to multiply) so that you can see what you're doing. Quote
