Simon Edmondson Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 While awaiting feedback on the sneaky project I did a test for the next one. This is for some cartoon clouds and was done with cycling maps. Back to the other work. simon Cloud.mov Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted January 16, 2013 Hash Fellow Posted January 16, 2013 That's in an interesting look. I was confused by the dark shadows on the ground . A Kleig light set for fuzzy z-buffered shadows with a lesser darkness might be worth trying. Quote

I was trying to get slight transparency in the cloud and still allow it to look as if it might contain rain. Its for a sequence of stormy clouds. The light used was a bulb with ray traced shadows which might account for the darkness ? Thank you. simon Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted January 16, 2013 Hash Fellow Posted January 16, 2013 I think all lights have a darkness setting to control the darkness of the shadow but z-buffered lights are generally faster and much faster for a soft shadow. Quote
