Customizing html emails?

The place where I work wants to send out a promotional email where the salutation will have the name of the recipient, i.e., "Dear Fred" instead of "Dear Sir". Is there some software that will do this? Any leads or clues will be appreciated!

This may not be exactly what you are looking for Gerry as its more "hands on" and not specific software, but these two tute's I found useful for making my own email stationary on Macs.

Thanks Mark. I was also directed to AWeber, a full-scale email customizing app. It turns out the new guy here who wants to do the emailing is familiar with this package.

have a look at inxma or mailchimp. i have programmed a cms system for work which is able to do that too but that is not to be given out for free.
