Admin Rodney Posted June 6, 2011 Admin Posted June 6, 2011 There have been quite a few characters posted to the A:M Community over the years but many are currently missing in action. Most are still available for those willing to launch a thorough search. But I think we can collect a few more here. If nothing else it is through the study of these models that we learn to model, rig and animate our own characters. A few of the characters that come immediately to mind are those previously collected via the A:M CD as well as those used in Animation Bootcamp, etc. Of course any Character used in TaoA:M or designed for use by beginners and those featuring cutting edge technology such as Squetchy Sam and updates and variations on Thom should be front and center. They are time tested and we know they can perform. The TWO characters are still waiting in the wings for the green light to go. Star Wars, Star Trek, DC, Marvel... an endless variety of Heroes, Villains and mysterious creatures from other worlds... already available elsewhere... perhaps you've already got some of them... all set to rock your world. As Animation:Master is first and foremost a character animation program we'll have to do something about this. These characters were made to be animated! Click here to see a current listing of Character's recently contributed to the Models forum. Here are links to a some highly articulate characters developed elsewhere in the forum. If interested in rigging you really should study these characters!: - 2008 Rig - Squetch Rig Note: You can download the examples or apply the rigs to your characters. Quote
Admin Rodney Posted May 29, 2013 Author Admin Posted May 29, 2013 In furtherance of the A:M Exchange Resources Center in 2013 and beyond I'll be looking to put together a Character Jam (collection of characters like they were all attending a comics convention) to further highlight the characters that are readily available to all A:M Users to animate. This could run in conjunction with the next Mascot contest (estimated to be in the Dec/Jan timeframe) so this is an early warning/heads up. As always, thanks to all who have contributed their characters over the years. Great stuff! Quote
aen916 Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 I've got a few characters in the works, I tend to model, then get frustrated rigging, then model something else, if you want them, I can post pics and I'll upload the projects you like. Andy. Quote
johnl3d Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Do you have all the characters that came on the cd's over the years or are you looking for just ones created by memebers Quote
Admin Rodney Posted June 6, 2013 Author Admin Posted June 6, 2013 Do you have all the characters that came on the cd's over the years or are you looking for just ones created by memebers The hope is to (eventually) collect any and all characters. I've got a few characters in the works, I tend to model, then get frustrated rigging, then model something else, if you want them, I can post pics and I'll upload the projects you like. The more the merrier I say. If something isn't optimized posting it here will invite others to join in and modify. Quote
