This topic is for Gary who is having some problems posting a new topic.

Hopefully he'll see this topic and be able to post here.

Here's Gary's first question (somewhat rephrased) for those who would like to lend a hand and welcome him to the forum:

What I need is to find out how to render a character out by himself and import it into After Affects.

I can't seem to get rid of the background.

The sky goes away when I render 'millions plus' but the ground stays with the character (KeeKat or whatever).

What do I do to get rid of the background?

Thanks

Gary

The ground is a model like Keekat is. That's why it is in the render.

You can see it has a listing in the Choreography, like Keekat does..

Delete it from the chor or set its "active" property to OFF in its properties window.

The sky is not a model, it's not even a sky, it's really just a default color the camera puts there when nothing else is in the picture.

Yup. the sky represents 'nothing' or 'forever' and will be matted away upon render...that's why it turns to black when you render. You can change the color of the sky under the cameras property box to whatever color you might want. Once you get your bearings of whats going on here, and in AE... you will be up and running!
