north
i am looking at some of the products there for sale...5 cds and SIGGRAPH DVD Trainings...also 3d AM Paint and so forth. what are the 5 CDS in the AM package about? it is about $500. i really want to create anime on it but it seems that just the AM software is not enough. 3d paint looks pretty cool to draw your models though. What 5 cds are you referring to? A:M does do nice toon rendering for anime look. There are many nice anime project done in A:M

brainmuffin
That five cd package is five identical program cds, and five identical Art of A:M tutorial guides. Unless you are planning to recruit four friends to help you out, and they are willing to chip in with you, you don't need all five disks & books. Just one... Or you could go with the one year web subscription, that's even cheaper. I like having the disk, though.
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted September 15, 2010 Hash Fellow Share Posted September 15, 2010 click on the Anime tab : http://vintagefilms.hash.com/ There's a lot of different looking anime style animations there done with A:M. The "Mystery Egg" is particularly good looking.
north
do those guys have tutorials on how they made their videos? im looking for something like the Bubble Crisis. can the 3d Paint from AM be used to create this? http://vintagefilms.hash.com/search/entry.php?entry=1089 or some of the fantasy ones like this http://vintagefilms.hash.com/search/entry.php?entry=1104 or the Hunter Forest http://vintagefilms.hash.com/search/entry.php?entry=
Fuchur
All of these dont really need anything more than A:M. You just need patience and talent. I think that Hunterforest uses a MotionCaptureDevice, so you dont need that. A:M can do that out of the box... but the quys which have done these are very advanced users... I would say: First learn the basics... See you *Fuchur*
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted September 16, 2010 Hash Fellow Share Posted September 16, 2010 I hadn't seen Stian's car before, that looks great. 3D paint is what you can use to make the colors and patterns that appear on the surface of the model. A:M is what you use to make the shapes themselves. All of those movies are examples of basic by-the-book modeling in A:M by fine artists. I don't think there's a step-by-step tutorial for any of them. There are many tutorials in the tutorials section on modeling technique. Modeling a human or a car is a large task but they are made up of simple modeling concepts. Start out with simple objects first and get your modeling chops going. When you have questions ask on the forum.
