a.quaihoi Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Hi All, I just wanted to see if anyone has any info on making toys with AM. I remember talking to Victor Navone about making Blitz model / statues like ages ago and he sent me some links to toy makers which I have lost, like ages ago. I do know that the models are created on Rapid Prototype Machines and you need to send them to the Toy makers in STL ( Stereolithography) file format for the machines to output, but not how to convert AM models. Animation Master is such a powerful organic modelling application, it is such a waste to not be able to this sort of work with it. If anyone has used AM to create toys or models, I would like to hear about the work flow they used to get the model to STL format and to the Prototype machine. Quote
TheSpleen Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 that's a cool idea. Lots of possibilities. Quote
Fuchur Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Have a look at this thread... he is making very very fine models with A:M: Thread "3d milled hash models" *Fuchur* Quote
a.quaihoi Posted April 21, 2009 Author Posted April 21, 2009 Hey thanks heaps guys, I did a bit of research and came across this wonderful thing for people that might be interested in making toys, it involves taking the AM mesh into 3DS Max to create a STL file. http://www.ghost3d.com/gt_ResErect.htm - plugin for max to import AM models and triangulate to STL, looks good . . .
