animation man hi Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Ok so thanks to photoman I got the water down and now I am adding a boat into the mix but I need help figuring out how to make a partical outline of the boat as seen in this part of the tutorial http://www.babbagepatch.com/wakes.htm Quote
heyvern Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 So what part of that tutorial is not clear? -vern Quote
photoman Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Good find havent seen that one before. I'll mess around with and see what I get. If I find out how to do it right I'll create a video tutorial for it. Photoman Quote
heyvern Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Number 3 You would need to step away from this tutorial and start looking into particles. Basically that step covers an entirely separate "tutorial". -vern Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted January 26, 2009 Hash Fellow Posted January 26, 2009 The Babbage tut is great, but as Vern noted, it's more of a high level concept than a step-by-step tut. I think he presumes you have a compositing app to combine the displacement map and the map you get from rendering the particles. I suppose there's a way to do that in A:M, but I'm not immediately sure. Of course, you wont' be any worse off for experimenting with those particles. Quote
animation man hi Posted January 26, 2009 Author Posted January 26, 2009 Thanks I will work on that asap. Quote
photoman Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Decided to try the tutorial. Got so far as #3 and got stuck because my particles are a image map and are invisible from the top view, but look great from my other camera. I've tried changing the angle and rotation but it doesn't change anything. Ideas? Photoman Quote
