flashawd
Hi - for some reason I thought I was able to import an .ai file into AM awhile back - but now I am not seeing how I would bring it in. Can anyone tell me if it is possible? Thanks for your help - Eric
John Bigboote
There is the .ai wizard... (In model window RT-clik, choose wizards/ai) Remember, A:M can only use .ai's from illustrator 8 or earlier. The wizard is primarily made for extruding .ai's into a model, but you can de-activate all that. G'luck!
flashawd
Thanks John - it is bringing it in kind of weird - I'll play around w/ some of the setting and see if I can get it in correct. Thanks again. -E
flashawd
Hi John - I saved it as .ai version 3 and it came in perfect. Thanks again for your help.
Fuchur
Hi John - I saved it as .ai version 3 and it came in perfect. Thanks again for your help. AI 8 should be fine too... but you have to be sure that there are no groups in the AI-file. Ungroup everything, export the ai to AI8 and it should work... *Fuchur*
flashawd
Thanks Furchur - that might have been the problem - I'll check it out. ;-)
