Eric Camden Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Be a little more specific. There is glazed ceramic, terra cotta style (like a ceramic pot for plants) and everything in between. I would guess you want a glazed look? If so, then you would have to work with a combination of specular size, intensity, and reflection. You could probably get away with faking reflections by using a material with an environment map in it. Depending on how involved you want to get, you could double skin the model to get a dual specular effect. Here's an example: Quote

Eric Camden Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Then I would suggest a search on "Bitmap Plus". It's included in AM and does a great job on tiles. Quote
Fuchur Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Then I would suggest a search on "Bitmap Plus". It's included in AM and does a great job on tiles. On a floor you can easily just use a decal with a repeat-value for the image. BitMap Plus can do the job too, but I would suggest to use it for uneven-surfaces where a decal would be very hard to apply correct. BitMapPlus is less controlable than a decal and cant be viewed in realtime. So, just get a texture of a ceramic flag (should be tileable) and use it as decal. At the decal, go to the image-folder in the PWS. You will find a "repeat"-property. Set it as high as you want and apply the decal. Done. (You can even manipulate the repeat-value after applying the decal. *Fuchur* Quote
Eric Camden Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 You are absolutely right. I had been using Bitmap so much lately for uneven surfaces that I got stuck into one-way thinking Quote
