Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted February 1, 2008 Hash Fellow Share Posted February 1, 2008 you better show a screen capture. I have no idea what you are trying to do.
Master chief
Ok go into top view and use the lath tool to create a circle it will usualy have 8 points , now what i want to be able to do is to is to grab one of the points like say the bottom one and snap it to a grid point with the others following the same path so it remains a circle and not some blob thing. Caroline
I still don't understand. Maybe a drawing? Or some idea of what shape you are trying to end up with? If you snap the control points to a grid, it won't be a circle any more. How about if you select several points and drag them all at the same time? Or Extrude? heyvern
I think I understand what you want but rather than using snap to grid you should just drag and rotate the whole lathed mesh so that one cp is on the point in the grid you want. It won't be exact but it should be close enough. Snapping to grid doesn't have any "options"... you either "snap" or you don't. -vern
Master chief
ok hopefully this will help in this pic iv made a blob with a few points on grid line and a few not on them now in this one iv moved it up a few and wat tto snap the 3 points that where on the grid to the grid points closist to then new position but having the other connected points move that same distance but not to a grid point
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted February 1, 2008 Hash Fellow Share Posted February 1, 2008 Vern is right. Just select the whole thing and manually move it to where you want it to be. Snap doesn't do what you are trying to do.
