IF any of you know very well im not quite sure how to model a cube. usually all i get is a square tunnel that has 2 sides open. Im not quite sure how to atch it and im not sure what a few of the modeling tools are and do.

 

If any of you can help me then that'd be great, thanks.

For a simple cube, you can either use the one that's in the Library, or draw a spline (2 CPs), choose the line then extrude to desired dimensions. Choose the 4 CPs and extrude again.

That would be simplest.

 

But first decide whether you want a theoretical cube (sharp edges) or a real one (beveled edges). Most real things don't have perfectly defined edges, they have bevels. Importing the cube from the library is a lot easier than making a new beveled cube. The library one has big bevels, you can group-select and modify to shrink them.
