flashawd Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Can anyone link me too any good materials tutorials? - I am trying to figure out the basics of creating them. Here is a link to a really good one, but a little advanced for me at this point. http://www.colins-loft.net/free/mats/Demon_Skin_Material.htm Thankyou - Eric Quote
johnl3d Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Are you intersted in using Hash materials or decals to texture? Quote
flashawd Posted September 25, 2007 Author Posted September 25, 2007 Hi John - thanks for your reply - that's the deal - I don't know. I didn't know you could texture with a decal? I thought to get a texture you had to create a material. I just need to start from square one - that's why I was looking for a basic material tutorial - like lizard skin or something. Can you add a decal and a material to an object? I have been looking through the Technical Reference, but it is a little too informational than tutorial. Thanks - Eric Quote
johnl3d Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 Hopefully the experts around here can give you tips But decals can be used for bump and color Quote
Caroline Posted September 25, 2007 Posted September 25, 2007 I would suggest The Art of Animation:Master, exercises 10 (decal) and 14 (materials). You can see the videos that go with that manual here: http://www.hash.com/2007web/vm.htm You can see TAoA:M manuals here: http://www.hash.com/2007web/manual.htm Quote
