Stylized Landscape, do you like it, or is it too different.

I like it, but what do you guys think. I have also stylized the trees, there is a sample of one of them in the Mtn pic. I modeled a canoe in the lake one, I'm working on the charaters now.

These we just tests, of the look of the landscapes. So camera angles etc. would be different with the charaters, and the lighting would foucus on the charaters more than backgrounds etc.

Hi Dhar

Thanks for the comment. Thats encouraging, the Mtn-1.jpg is a little harsh the way it is now, but I really liked all the swirls of the ground. This style is very low patch count on the landscape, same for the trees, and the style tells me not to put in much detail, or textures,( I tried) even up close.

I think I should have posted this under WIP.

Anyway thanks Dhar

Yeah, I can see that working. Those are a pair of great shots.

Depending on the characters, and how they will be positioned in relation to the camera and the background, you should be careful about the background stealing the scene. Not a problem with the canoe shot.

Or you could work with it by having a reaction shot from your char, then spinning around to reveal the landscape.

I may be thinking about this the wrong way though. ;)

Nice! Very original style. A lot of CG artwork has the same style. It kind of makes me think of crumpled up paper. and the sky and lighting is great, too.

Hi AniMattor and Churury Sanson

Ok thats a good comment, it does sort of look like crumpled paper.

Here's one that is getting closer. This guy in the canoe is going to paddle up to the shore sets up camp, starts a fire , then night comes, the stars come out. With Loon sounds etc. Hope I can make that convicing!!
