Hiya :) I've been working on my entry for the 10 sec club and would like to get some feedback if possible, thanks! But it's from Nightmare before Xmas when Sally tries to poison the Doctor, I've added some subtitles which should help. All done in 10.5.

Hi Matthew, It's hard to crit cause you did a great job! the only thing that i might add would be a few blinks and some motion blur... do you have control over the camera angle, or how you frame your scene in this contest ? Your animation is powerful, but maybe if the camera was closer to the character , or if you were looking at the character from a lower vantage point he would have more authority. thanks for sharing B)

even with subtitles it's hard to judge, but perhaps he's moving a bit too mercurially for a weak, old man? Or is that "irony"? it's an interesting look, it's got that east european stop-motion look going on. The modeling of only four fingers per hand on such a human character bothers me but that's outside the lipsynch issue.

Thanks Michael & Robert :) There was no motion blur because I just did 1-pass renders, doing a final render tonight with mo-blur before I crash. I forgot to make him blink, hehe thanks for reminding me! The camera angle is a good idea I'll try out. He is moving a bit too lively, but I always thought of this character as being late 50's/early 60s .. old, but not too old to give them youngin's a good yelling at. You're the 2nd person to bring up the finger issue with this guy.. I thought I could get away with it since his proportions are pretty exaggerated, but I'll probably give him a proper middle finger now (all the better to flip ppl off with hehe). Too late for this animation (due tomorrow) but it'll be there in the next short. Thanks again!

Tweaked out a bunch of little things. The camera suggestion was a great idea but I didn't implement it, I'd have to re-animate his head to look at the camera in the new position and I didn't have enough time. <_< Thanks!

I don't know much about the animation side of things, but it looks pretty good to me. I think that first head movement seems a little stiff. And there could be some sound effects for the bowl and first. That's about all I could crit.

ok, here's something that bothers me... ;) his hand strikes the table, and although it dips with the table for one frame, after that it hangs frozen above the surface, while the table continues to vibrate. A temporary "translate to" constraint with an offset would make an easy fix.
