ok i got two questions

one, how do you get those particle systems, (like the blob, or sprite, or whatever) to finish emitting whatever

i can figure out how to setup where they start emitting

im just having trouble figuring out how to setup where they

stop emitting

---

second question

about the treeZ plugin thingy

i got it to work pretty well, its actually pretty easy when you know how

im just having trouble with the foliage, how do you produce the foliage for

the trees?

do you use some sort of particle system for that? im having trouble getting that

to come out well for me

Edit:

I think your Question 1 changed here.

You'll need to animate over time... set a Preroll...

Your manual has a nice exericse on Particle emitters.

Ah... I see the 'How to Stop' was in your Topic Title.

Keep asking questions! :)

no, i mean how do u tell the emitter to stop emitting particles

like lets say on frame 00:00:10

you set it to start emitting particles

then on frame 00:00:20

you set it to stop emitting particles

how do you rig something like that?

Oh.

Change the emitter rate to zero on 00:00:20?

I have a feeling you don't want to completely stop particles (as in turn them all off) but thats what you are asking. If its to have them die off you would adjust their Life setting.

I think the terminology is confusing me.

You have the Emitter and the Particles emitted.

Stopping the emitter versus the Particles they have emitted are different things.

Play with the settings on a test project.

Break stuff... try things you don't think will work.

The best way to find out what's behind a door is to open it.

Keep posting your findings and questing here.

actualy sometimes you don't have to do that, you could use the time line to and use this to have the particles go transparent at what ever frame(or point in time after emitting) you want!

....i hope that made sense

baisicly at frame 00:00:00 it starts(you can also change its color during this time) then at frame 00:00:20 you set the transeparency to maybe 20% then at frame 00:00:30 you set it to 100%.
