phnxpyre Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 Well, i've worked on this in my spare time between school and other things. I'm pretty new at A:M and this is actually the first model that i actually have rigged. I still have to rig the antenna and fix the riging of the legs. And also increase the amount of patches in the head, because it renders really wierd as you will see in the photo. Comments and Critiques are definately welcome! Thanks Quote
Odog2020 Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 well, he has some very reflective skin, or metal, or whatever. Anyways, for an evil robot he keeps himself pretty clean. I couldn't the the antana very well, but I did see it in the shadow, can you post a pic with more light. Thanks, keep up the good work. James Quote
phnxpyre Posted November 9, 2005 Author Posted November 9, 2005 Here is a pic with more light.... Quote
Odog2020 Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 Thanks for the extra light. It is a great piece just using basic shapes. I think my favorite part of the model is the screw heads. great work Quote
teh1ghool Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 That's good, I like it!!! Now if you could just fit it into a green dog costume with black arms and legs and ears and tail and have an open mouth with a saagging tongue! ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Some cartoon, but I don't remember what it's called!! That model actually looks like the robot in that cartoon. Quote
phnxpyre Posted November 10, 2005 Author Posted November 10, 2005 Thanks for the comments and suggestions guys! Anymore? Quote
phnxpyre Posted November 10, 2005 Author Posted November 10, 2005 I made this walk test of the robot. i still need to rig his antenna, so it can start swaying when he walks. well it is just a start. any suggestions on it, would be great, because this is my first walk cycle ever made with my own rigged character, so comments and critiques would be AWESOME. Enjoy! robottestwalk.mov Quote
phnxpyre Posted November 11, 2005 Author Posted November 11, 2005 he does, but for some reason in the walk, he doesn't move his elbows. I shall put that on my list of things fix on it. Thanks! Any other suggestions? Quote
DanCBradbury Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 reminds me of a certain someone... i cant quite put my finger on it. Quote
teh1ghool Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 That's exactly what I was thinking, DanCBradury! I said a green dog costume before... The dude you have in that picture wears one out in public... I watched that show a few years ago. Quote
phnxpyre Posted November 11, 2005 Author Posted November 11, 2005 Hahahaha.....It does look like that picture. Yeah my friends told me it looked like some character from a show. Never seen that show though. o well, i have another robot to make as well, that is a bit bigger----->like this one's brother or something. im going to do a short animation with the two of them....but i havn't figured out a story. MattWBradbury Posted November 12, 2005 Posted November 12, 2005 I do agree with the other guys in saying that it looks alot like Gir from Invader Zim. Ghool, I found a pic of him in a dog costume. The key for a walk cycle is to make it look flawless. Maybe have your robot (Gir) walk two full cycles before you set it as 1 cycle, so you get a bit of randomness. Quote
teh1ghool Posted November 13, 2005 Posted November 13, 2005 I agree with that, and that's a great idea about the walk cycles!! Hahaha love the imkage. I haven't seen that show in ages. It's all coming back to me!... I remember lines similar to this from Zim: GIR, GET TO THE SHIP AND "BLAH BLAH BLAH" Quote
